ST.

COLUMBA CATHOLIC CHURCH

August 2, 2015
Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Healing Mass
There will be a Mass and Healing service on
Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 p.m. with Fr.
Mel. There will be a Rosary for Life at 6:30 p.m.
Music by Donna Lee. Plan now to attend with
friends and family members.

Knights of Columbus
Our local Council #1349 had a productive last year. We
had fish fries, pancake brunches and Christmas card sales
to raise funds. We provided grants to two seminarians,
bought Bibles for Mercy Hospital and made a large donation to the Bishop Flores Scholars fund. We also raised
funds to support people with intellectual disabilities, collected and purchased new coats for homeless children
and delivered 2,000 pounds of food to Catholic Charities.
Were looking for men to join us in supporting the
Church, family and Catholic schools. Thanks.
Ed Ancmon (past Grand Knight), 858-356-8111

Stewardship As a Way of Life

Monthly Schedule

Christian stewards are called, according to their

circumstances, to be generous out of love, as well as
duty, with time, money, prayers, and personal service.
"If someone sees a brother or sister in need and refuses them compassion, how can the love of God remain in them?"
(1 John 3:17)

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: 2nd

Saturday, Daily Chapel, 8:30 am3:30 pm. Holy Hour for Life
with chaplet of Divine Mercy, 2:30-3:30 pm.

Support Our Teachers!

Every year, the teachers at St. Columba spend some of
their own money to buy extras for their classrooms. I
would like to provide some Target gift cards to help with
this. The last two years the Mens Club gave the funds,
but the next fundraiser for the Mens Club will be after
school starts. If you would like to help, write a check to
St. Columba and put it in an envelope marked Teacher
Extras, and put it in the Sunday collection plate. If you
have any questions, call me, Ed Ancmon at 858-3568111. Thank you!

Adoration
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held in the
daily chapel on Saturday, August 8, from 8:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. If you would like to attend at a specific time,
there is a sign-up book in the chapel.

Young Adult Group

St. Columba has formed a new Young Adult Group. We
want to empower young adults to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, in both social and spiritual aspects. We hope
you will join us. For more information, please contact
Karina Tijerina at tijerina.karina@outlook.com or 858602-8470.

Stewardship
This October, three members of the Stewardship Committee will be attending the International Catholic Stewardship Conference in Chicago. You can help by donating unused frequent flyer miles either from a specific
airline or from a credit card miles program. If you can
donate miles or have any questions, please contact Bob
Horn at 619-843-8891.
