It is kind of silly when you

think about it.
Virtually every news organization in the region will
be anxiously watching today
as one of the most famous
figures in the sports world
today steps off a plane and
onto the tarmac at Atlantic City International Airport.
And all the juicy details will be dutifully
disseminated via social media, websites
and news broadcasts to the masses in an effort to quench a seemingly insatiable thirst
for all of this.

weekend at the Shore, good luck.
The Haskell Invitational horse race, featuring Triple Crown winner American Pharoah at Monmouth Park in Oceanport Sunday, combined with a predicted prime August beach weekend, have made hotel availability almost nonexistent. Pharoah fans
are coming from as far away as California
and these visitors are staying for more
than just the weekend.
Rooms are booked solid across Monmouth and Ocean counties. The Jersey
Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates that well over 5,000 of the estimated
5,600 rooms available in the two counties
have already been booked.
If we had triple the amount of rooms,
wed have enough for everyone, Bob Hilton, the bureaus executive director, said.

Neptune Sgt. Philip Seidle stalked ex-wife Tamara

Wilson-Seidle while he was on duty, based on a law enforcement review of GPS data from his patrol vehicle,
the Asbury Park Press has learned.
While police termed it stalking, it was unclear how
far back the alleged conduct went, or the lengths to
which Seidle is believed to have tracked his ex-wife.
The GPS data showed, at the very least, that Seidle traveled up and down the cul-de-sac in Neptune on which
Wilson-Seidle lived.
On June 16, on an Asbury Park street, Seidle, 51, shot
and killed Wilson-Seidle, firing 12 shots from his .40-caliber Glock service weapon at her in front of the couples
7-year-old daughter, and other onlookers, including
Neptune and Asbury Park police.
The revelation casts an even sharper light on how
the Neptune Police Department handled Seidle, a 22year veteran of the force, prior to the slaying.
GPS records for officers vehicles are easily accessible by a department, according to the source, who
learned of the alleged stalking from a law enforcement
officer with direct knowledge of the Seidle homicide investigation.
Documents released to the Asbury Park Press after
the killing had already revealed that Neptune police
had generated 21 reports, some involving domestic violence, involving the Seidles.
Charles Webster, spokesman for the Monmouth
County Prosecutors Office, declined to discuss the allegation of Seidle stalking his ex-wife.
