Graduate Engineering Vacancies
To match our growth plans and enhance our capabilities we have a number of
Graduate Engineer vacancies within our Engineering function. This will ultimately
lead to a role in the following areas:
design, development, stress & performance and applications engineering across all
our product ranges such as
wind power, oil & gas, mining, industrial, rail, defence, marine and aftermarket.
Pre-joining
Conditional Offer of Employment: Should you be successful at the interview, you'll
be given a conditional offer of employment which is subject to relevant security and
medical checks and proof of academic requirements.
Final Offer of Employment: Once we have received and are satisfied with all
relevant documentation, you'll be given a final offer of employment.
1 Year Graduate Development Programme
Induction: When you start you will receive an induction that will provide the
foundation for your initial career with David Brown Gear Systems.
Mentor: You'll be allocated a mentor - typically one of the Chief Engineers- who will
act as a single point of reference during the early stages of your career. This
relationship is designed to give you the opportunity to engage in open discussion,
objective feedback and guidance regarding your future within David Brown Gear
Systems.
Placements: You will undertake four 3 month placements that provide you with real
and important roles, allowingyou to add real value to our business,and to develop
your functional expertise, improve your general competencies and learn more about

the company, so you are best placed to realise your potential. Placements may include
secondments to our facilities in the United States, South Africa, China or Australia.
3 Monthly Performance Reviews: After every 3 month placement you'll receive a 3
monthly performance review which allows you to track your development and how
you have performed during your placement. This review will be linked to potential
salary increases.
Recruitment Process
Application: Covering letter and a CV. This is the first stage of the recruitment
process.
Pre-requisites:You will have completed your BEng or MEng in Mechanical
Engineering (or equivalent) with (or expected) a 2:1 pass or above
Online Psychometric Tests: Upon successful screening of your application, you'll be
invited to complete an online psychometric test.
Shortlisting: If you have successfully passed the online psychometric tests, your
application will be assessed by the Chief Engineers.
Interview: If you have successfully passed the shortlisting, you'll be invited to an
interview with David Brown Gear Systems.
