3. Click OK in the TRX mapping setup window to confirm.

Defining Transmission setup

In the STN Equipment box, select No STN, SIU, or Other.
4. Select the RBS transmission interface. For ABIS Over TDM select No STN & for ABIS
Over IP Select SIU

5. Click OK in the Create IDB window.

Defining Present RUs

This section describes how to check and, if necessary, define the RUs which are present (or
not present) in the RBS.
To avoid Hardware and IDB inconsistency, the RBS must know which RUs should be present.
By setting RUs to Present/Not present, the RBS recognizes which RUs can be used (present)
and which are not present.
The following RUs are not automatically updated and must therefore be defined:

Pic:14
The following RUs are automatically marked as present when the RU is detected:
Note:

The RUs cannot be removed when in traffic.

8.3.7 Defining RRUS Availability

Define the RRUs Present/Not present as follows:
1. Select Configuration > Define > Present RUs... to open the Define Present RUs
window.
2. If necessary, move the RUs in the configuration used to the present box by selecting
the RU to be moved and clicking the
key (or double-clicking the RUs to be moved).

3. If RUs Not Present in the configuration are in the Present box, then move them to the
Not Present box by clicking the key
4. Click Ok when Finished

Defining RU (DUG) position
This section describes how to check and, if necessary, define the DUG position in the RBS.
1. Select Configuration > Define > RU Position to display the Define RU (DUG) position
dialog box.

Pic: 19
1. In the Shelf box, select the HW unit shelf position in the cabinet.
2. In Define RU pos, select Slot for DUG master, in this case it is slot 1
3. Click OK when finished.

Defining CPRI Parameters

This section describes how to define the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) parameters.
For an overview of the available parameters settings for CPRI parameters, see Table below

1. Select Configuration > Define > CPRI... to display the Define CPRI Parameters dialog box.
2. Select the applicable RI port from the list.
3. In the Interface type box, select the cable connection type for the CPRI interface.
4. In the Mode box, select the CPRI port mode.
5. Repeat Step 2 to Step 4 until all CPRI parameters have been defined.
6. Click OK, when all parameters are set.

Defining MCTR Configuration

This section describes how to define the Multi Carrier Transceiver (MCTR) configuration. The
number of TRXs per MCTR can be changed using create IDB.
1. Select Configuration > Define > MCTR... to display the Define MCTR Configuration dialog
box.
2. Select the applicable MCTR instance from the list.
3. In the Power Distribution box, select the MCTR configuration.
4. Click OK, when all MCTR configurations are set.

Pic: 22
The Power distribution can be set in MCTR configuration is depending on the TRX
configuration defined in RBS.

Defining TEI
This section describes how to define the TEI value.
To enable the BSC to communicate with the CMRU of an RBS in a cascade chain, a unique
TEI value between 12 and 63 needs to be set for each RBS in the chain. The TEI value for the
RBS must also match the TEI value the BSC uses to identify the RBS. For RBSs not connected
in a cascade chain, the default TEI value can be used.
1. Select Configuration > Define > TEI... to open the Define TEI window.

2. In the Define TEI window, select the appropriate DUG and click Run.
3. Enter the TEI value, and click OK.

Defining Alarm Inputs (External Alarms)

This section describes how to define the external alarms, if applicable.

To enable the supervision of devices connected to the external alarm interface of the RBS,
several parameters need to be set.
1. Select Configuration > Define > Alarm Inlets... to open the Define Alarm Inlets window.
2. In the Hardware unit box, select SCU, SUP, or SAU.
3. In the Alarm Inlet Information window, select an unused alarm inlet.

4. In the Inlet Usage box, select "External Alarm".

5. In the Type box, define the alarm type as "Closing" (when there is an alarm, the alarm
cable closes) or "Breaking" (when there is an alarm, the alarm cable breaks).
6In the ID box, select an alarm inlet number.
7. In the Severity box, set the severity level of the alarm.
8. Add a comment in the Comment box, if required.
9. Click Apply after defining the alarm.
10. Repeat steps 2 to 8 to define the remaining alarms.
11. Click OK when all alarms have been defined.

Installing IDB
If the RBS is in remote mode, change the setting to local mode by pressing the Maintenance
button on the DU. the Maintenance indicator will start to flash.
Wait until the Maintenance indicator has a constant blue light, indicating that the RBS is now
in local mode.
