Eect of Dehubing on Flight Performance
This papers empirical work would systematically examine the connection between de-hubbing and
service quality. To be more specic, this paper answers the following questions: Would de-hubbing
improve or worsen performance quality of (1) ights of the legacy carrier at the de-hubbed airport (2)
ights of other carriers at the de-hubbed airport (3) ights of other hub airports of the de-hubbing
carrier?

1-Hub or 2-Hub Network, a Theoretical Analysis of the Optimality of Airline Network Structure.(Revise and
Resubmit),Journal of Economics of Transportation.
Multi-hub network structures are an increasingly important phenomenon in todays airline networks.
With current theoretical arguments for the single-hub solution leaving little room for the kind of multihub networks that exist nowadays, this paper sets up a formal model to explore the optimality of multihub networks, with or without competition. It is shown that a single-hub network may not be an optimal network conguration, while a 2-hub conguration may be favored under certain circumstances.
In addition, the paper shows that competition can also aect an airlines optimal choice of network: a
2-hub network can be more preferable if a low-cost carrier enters the market.
Community Attributes and the Subway Capitalization Eect: Theory and Evidence on the Variation of the
Subway Proximity Premium.(Revise and Resubmit) Papers in Regional Science

1 of 2

Abstract:This paper analyzes the relationship between community attributes and the subway homeprice capitalization eect, asking whether the magnitude of the subway proximity premium is aected
by neighborhood economic status and location. The theoretical analysis shows that middle class communities with higher income will experience a smaller subway proximity premium. The analysis also
reveals that the subway proximity premium will decrease as a communitys distance to the CBD increases. The analysis also suggests that a more convenient subway line can induce a higher capitalization eect. Lastly, the paper tests the analytical conclusions with data from Beijing, and the results
show evidence supporting the proposed model.
