FOR WOMEN
INA Healing Center A facility that provides psychosocial support to bereaved
mothers through programs and projects aimed at helping them manage their grief
and empower them to reach out to other grieving mothers
Services Provided:
Social Services:

Grief counseling for mothers

Psychological Service:

Counseling and psychological evaluation to grieving mothers who lost their


children.

FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES


Rehabilitation Sheltered Workshop (RSW) A facility that provides vocational/social
rehabilitation and skills training to persons with disabilities and other special groups
for socio-economic independence and productivity.
Services Provided:

Intake and supportive casework


Counseling of clients individually or in groups
Contact with the families and relatives

Medical and Dental Service:

Diagnosis of the extent of the trainees disability, as well as his/her physical


capacities and limitations
Psychological Services:
Assistance in the formulation of the trainees vocational goal through
evaluation of their mental ability, aptitude and skills, and by determining
their work experiences and vocational and occupational preferences

Job Placement:

Provision of assistance to clients in finding jobs suited to their skills, interest


and qualification. These include open employment, self-employment or

Participation in selected community activities and using available community


resources and services like schools, health centers, hospitals, markets,
churches and facilities or offices for employment

FOR FAMILIES/ COMMUNITIES


The Sustainable Livelihood Program or SLP is a community-based capacity-building
program aimed at improving the socio-economic status of its participants. It
operates on a two-track system, in which participants are given the option to take
either the
(a) Micro-enterprise Development track or the
(b) Employment Facilitation track after participating in social preparation and
capacity-building workshops to be conducted by the project development officers
from different regions.
Moreover, program participants are provided with the corresponding assistance
based on their chosen tracks. Further trainings are conducted during the
implementation process of the program, as well as monitoring and evaluation.
Clientele: Unemployed and under-employed poor families

FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH


Child Protective Services Preventive and rehabilitation services provided to
children victims of abuse, neglect and exploitation. These include provision of
immediate intervention for childrens early recovery and reintegration to their
families.
Therapy Services for Abused Children Therapeutic interventions and approaches
provided to children to overcome the negative effects of abuse. These aim to
maximize their potentials towards living a normal and productive life

Family Care This provides permanent or temporary family care arrangement to


children whose parents are unable to provide for their basic needs, temporarily or
permanently. This is provided to a child in three ways:
1. Adoption A socio-legal process of providing a permanent family to a child
whose parents have voluntarily or involuntarily relinquished parental
authority over the child. The framework for the implementation of the
domestic adoption is based on the provisions of Republic Act 8552 or the
Domestic Adoption Act of 1998.
2. Foster Family Care The provision of a planned substitute parental care for a
child by a licensed foster family when the biological parents cannot care for
her/ him.
3. Legal Guardianship Granting of sole and absolute legal guardianship,
parental authority or legal custody over the child to a parent/person by the
Court. This applies in situations where the parents are legally separated,
divorced or have had their marriage annulled.
Travel Clearance to Minors Issuance of clearance to a child (below 18 years-old)
who is traveling alone or accompanied by somebody other than his/her parent. This
aims to protect the child from abuse, exploitation and trafficking by ensuring he/she
is traveling for legitimate reason and with an authorized person.
Special Social Services for Children in Armed Conflict (CIAC) Provision of a package
of social services and interventions designed to protect and rehabilitate children
affected directly or indirectly by armed conflict.
Government Internship Program (GIP) A program that gives youth the opportunity
to participate in government service by giving them summer job. GIP is a program
component of the Kabataan 2000 that aims to initiate the youth to public service.
DSWD provides a package of rehabilitation services through its residential care
facilities such as the Regional Rehabilitation Center (RRCY), National Training School
for Boys and National training for Girls (Marillac Hills) to enable CICL to improve
their social functioning. This aims to reintegrate CICL with their families and the
community. These services include psycho-social care, educational, home life,
dietary, health, recreational, and other cultural activities and spiritual enhancement.

FOR OLDER PERSONS


Golden Acres/Home for the Elderly/Home for the Aged A residential care facility
that provides care to male and female senior citizens 60 years old and above.
Services Provided:
Social Services:

Provision of comprehensive and integrated delivery of rehabilitation services


using inter-disciplinary approach

Preparation for the re- integration of the older person to his/ her family or
relatives or alternative caring institution/family

Coordination with LGUs, GOs and NGOs for resources and services needed

Residential Care Services:

Provision of comfortable living quarters, adequate food, clothing, and


beddings to approximate family life

Occupational Therapy Services:

Provision of varied occupational and recreational activities that aims to


enhance the residents vocational skills and capacity to earn.

Health and Medical Services:

Provision of consultation, treatment and referral for physical and psychiatric


examination to promote physical, psychological and mental well- being of the
residents.

Dietary Services:

Provision of appropriate meals to meet the needs of the residents.

Socio- Recreational Services:

Provision of activities and opportunities for social interaction, relaxation and


fun among residents

Spiritual Service:

Provision of varied spiritual activities aimed at strengthening the residents


faith and relationship with GOD
