Blacka Moor
East Peak
Introduction
An excursion onto the moors west of
Sheffield. This is a glorious, tight little circuit that maximises the quality
singletrack potential of this area
and it can be savoured in around an
hour.

The Ride
A short road section leads quickly to a
five bar gate and then its out across the
moorland on an exposed and (usually)
boggy jeep track. This becomes increasingly technical until a steep descent
takes us down at some speed to a secretive junction with the unique singletrack
skirting left round the base of Wimble
Holme Hill. A fast descent with an exhilarating stream crossing follows. You
then have the option of A: a very challenging climb; or B: some gruelling road
work, either of which will take you round
onto Houndkirk Road a superb section
of desert high road that wouldnt be
out of place in Utah! From here its a
swift cruise downhill back to the car
park.
