MULTIVARIATE DATA ANALYSIS

Fall 2014 (MORNING)

The quality of business decisions depends to a great extent on the information available to
the decision maker. It is the function of business research to provide information for this
decision-making. The main purpose of this course is the prospective business decision
makers with an understanding of research methods

Grading Policy

1. The students must reach the class-rooms in time. Late comers may join the class but are not entitled to
be marked present.
2. Attendance shall be marked at the start of the class. Students failing to secure 75% attendance shall not
be allowed to sit in the
Final Examination.
3. The assignment submission dead-line must be observed. In case of late submission, 10% marks may be
deducted for each day.
4. Those who are absent on the announcement date of the assignment / test, must get the topic / chapter of
the test / assignment confirmed through their peers.
5. Mobile phones must be switched-off in the class-rooms.
6. Course-books and relevant course material is available in the Library for reference and photo copying.
The course outline has following objectives:

To educate students with strong knowledge base for analytical sense.

To enable them to understand quantitative applications on variety of data sets

To enhance the skills for empirical analysis of the facts and interpret them in an appropriate way

To enable student so that they can apply different statistical test and operations according to the
requirement and nature of data

To enable student so that they can interpret the

To provide them knowledge about the statistical packages and software used for analysis

To strengthen the quantitative research abilities into student

After completing this course student will be able to
1. Apply quantitative techniques to any kind of data sets
2. Interpret appropriately the results and estimation according the requirement
3. Make and explain the graphs, facts and figure appropriately
4. Apply the statistical tools and tests where applicable
5. Can use statistical packages and software easily for analysis of data
6. Construct a research document with quantitative and empirical analysis
