THE MONTGOMERY BAPTIST

Serving Christ Through Montgomery Area Churches

KEN MAY, DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 2015

Being Ready To Serve

Each one should be ready to use whatever gift
he has received to serve others, faithfully
administering God's grace in its various
forms. I Peter 4:10

ne Sunday morning years ago, my pastor

laid a stack of paperwork on the communion
table. His sermon topic was, Being Ready to Serve
When God Calls. The papers were passport
applications. During the invitation, he encouraged us
to pick up one, fill it out, and submit it. He said to us,
Lisa C. Rose
If God calls you overseas for short or long-term Church & Community Ministries
missions, how will you go if you are not ready? The
same message applies for allwe need to be equipped and ready to serve
when called.
Would you accept the challenge? When missions training opportunities
are offered, consider attending and becoming ready to serve. If you see
a need to work with children, attend a tutoring or childrens ministry
workshop. If you like helping people recover from disasters, go to a disaster
relief training. If you are open to exploring areas of ministry that you dont
know about, find a place and learn about it.
