1. Bulk charging at constant current until the voltage rises until 14.4V at 20C.
2. Absorption stage: minimum voltage 14.4V until the charging current decreases
until 0,17 x the total charging current.
3. Float mode is limited at 13.7V. When the battery requires more than 0.17V x the
total charging current at any stage, the programm returns to the absorption
stage. At that moment, the battery can charge as much as needed, until the
demand falls again until 0.17 x the total charging current; then the float modus
will restart.

Contrary to chargers with the U/I characteristics, the

charging occurs with a constant current. Since the
batteries are charged until the end of the charging
process at the maximal current, the battery is charged
considerably faster.
Contrariamente a cargadores con caractersticas U/I, se

proporciona una corriente constante. Por eso, la carga
es considerablemente ms rpida dado que se carga las
bateras hasta el n con corriente mxima.
Charge principle : The battery is charged at the maximal

current until a voltage of 14.7V (or 7.3V when there are
6V-batteries). Then, the device switches over to the
timer modus and the battery will be charged during 1
hour with constantly decreasing current. After about 1
hour, the device switches over to the standby-modus
and the maintenance charge at 13.8V (or 6.9V when
there are 6V batteries) will be started. The charger is
protected against short circuit and reversed polarisation.
Also appropriate to charge gel batteries.
Principio de carga : hasta una tensin de 14.7V (o

7.3V para las bateras 6V), la batera es cargada con la
corriente mxima. Despus, el aparato cambia al modo
de temporizador y se carga la batera durante 1 hora
disminuyendo la corriente progresivamente. Despus
de una hora, el aparato cambia automticamente al
modo de reserva, y la carga de compensacin entra en
vigor. El aparato est protegido contra los cortocircuitos
y los errores de polarizacin. Este cargador tambin est
adecuado para cargar bateras gel.

All Zivan high frequency chargers work in accordance with the principle
of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply)
Todos los cargadores de alta frecuencia Zivan funcionan conforme al

principio de SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply)
Principle: the 220 volt AC or 3 x 380V.AC of the network comes to an EMI

filter. The filter is located behind the diode bridge. The mains voltage is
rectified and then sufficiently smoothed (= AC / DC conversion). This high
DC voltage arrives at the primary side of the transformer. The transformer
for its part is switched by one or more mosfet(s) or power transistor(s). At
the gate or base of the power components, a pulse-counting signal (PWM
= Pulse Width Modulation) arrives. This PWM signal causes the cutting of
the high input voltage with a high frequency. The PWM signal is supplied
by the control stage which is on its part controlled by the control logic,
which gets the information at the battery side. By switching the power
component on the primary side of the transformer, theres a pulse shaped
signal at the secondary side, which is rectified backward to a much lower
voltage (V) than those at the primary side but with a higher current value
(A). Before this current is brought to the battery it passes again through an
EMI filter which eliminates the last differences of tension and suchlike.

primario, pero con un valor de corriente ms alta (A). Antes de llevar esta
corriente a la batera, pasa de nuevo a travs de un filtro EMI, que elimina
las diferencias de tensin ltimas etc.
Result: Theres always a constant current to the battery, independent of

the variations on the mains voltage.
Resultado: Siempre hay una corriente constante a la batera, independiente

de las variaciones en la tensin de red.
Functioning of a zivan high frequency charger
Funcionamiento de un cargador de alta frecuencia Zivan
Controlled recharging = recharging according to the state of discharge.

The Zivan charger controls constantly the tension of your battery! The
charger starts with a maximum charging current until the battery reaches
2.4V/cell. When the 2.4V/cell us reached, the current drops back and the
charger starts to charge the battery with a charging current which comes
to 4 % of the battery capacity.

So: The charge of your battery is always adapted to the state of discharge
-> the more your battery is discharged, the longer is the charge time; the
less discharged, the shorter the charge time!
Por consecuencia: Se adapta siempre la carga de la batera al estado de

descarga -> ms su batera est descargada, el ms largo es el tiempo de
carga. Una descarga ms dbil implica un tiempo de carga menos largo!
Maximum efficiency: Saving of approximately 25 % on your energy bill.

Thanks to the use of a microprocessor which controls permanently the
depth of discharge and the state of charge of your battery, the energy
consumption is reduced during the charge cycles, as the charger only
delivers the current needed to charge the discharged part of the battery!
Also, the classic transformer is replaced by a special transformer in a HFcharger: this means less lost of warmth --> less energy loss --> more
efficiency.
Mximo rendimiento: ahorro de aproximadamente un 25% en su factura

de energa. Gracias a la utilizacin de un microprocesador que controla
permanentemente la profundidad de la descarga y el estado de carga de
la batera, el consumo de energa se reduce durante los ciclos de carga,
ya que el cargador slo proporciona la corriente necesaria para cargar la
parte descargada. Adems, el transformador clsico es sustituido por un
transformador especial en un HF-cargador: esto significa menos prdida
