There are 3 clerical, 2 officers, 2 peon and 1 Security providing the services to
customers during the working hours. At officer level if

Accounts department make deposits withdrawals, clearing of cheques. This
department provides different types of vouchers which helps to withdraw or
deposit money. People fill these forms and put their signatures. The signatures are
then verified then the withdrawals of money is possible. The deposits are also
made by the people by filling forms.

Advances departments
This department make advances to the people as per their requirement people who
need loan fulfill the requirements of bank and make sure that all the proofs are
contract upto the knowledge of the persons then bank grants loan by keeping

Eligibility Criteria :
Person in his own name or in joint names including minors are eligible.
If the person has any other existing saving account in the bank it should be closed
within 30 days from the date of opening of this account.
Maximum account of Deposits :Does not have any limits. Withdrawals are restricted to four including ATM. After it Rs. 5
is charged for withdrawal.

Saving Bank Account for students :To encourage savings habits among students bank provide the students with
saving account facilities.
Eligibility Criteria :Students above the age of 10 and upto 25 or upto completion of education whichever is
earlier is eligible.
There is requirement of additional documents line photocopy of identify card issued from
school / college or educational institute.

Corporate Salary Package Account :If institutions open salary distribution account with the bank they get various
benefits. It provides facility of silver, gold, diamond and platinum account.

Recurring Deposit Account :This is the most popular investment option for people with regular income. The
bank offers recurring Deposits for the period of 6 months to 10 years. The
installment amount and number of installments cannot be changed after opening
the account. Interest is paid quarterly. The bank provides similar rate of interest
for any limit period. Interest rate is 8.75%
Bank deduct TDS at 10% if the interest is more than Rs. 10,000/-.

Fixed Deposits :The bank provides interest rate upto 8.25% p.a. which is compounded quarterly.
The person cant withdraw money before maturity. In need if person wants to
withdraw premature then bank pays 50% low ROI than actual duration amount.
These deposits start from Rs. 1000/-.

Current Account :This account provide facility to the businessmen and merchants specially as they
need to make withdrawals and deposits more frequently. Bank provides the
facility of unlimited number of payments and also provides overdraft facility.
Debit card facility. Debit card facility provided is free in Ist year and chargeable
from 2nd year.
Interest rate :- No interest is paid on Deposits.

SBP Home Loan :Home Loan is provided at 9.95% rate of interest. The person should be 18 to 70
years who may be self employed or salaried person. This loan is provided only if
the person has regular sufficient income maximum period for home loan is 25
years.

Car Loan :The person whether salaried or self employed should be 21 to 65 years with net
annual income 4,00,000/- and above if salaried and 6,00,000/- and above if self
employed with residence proof.
SBP Gyan Jyoti Education :SBP provides Gyan Jyoti Scheme to a student who is

If student is studying in India eligible graduation courses are B.A., B. Com, B. Sc. And
post graduate courses are Masters and Ph.D. and professional courses are Engineering,
Medical, Agriculture and Dental.
If student is studying abroad for post graduation courses are MBA and MCA.
Purchase of Computer.
Repayment :
Loan is to be repaid in 5-7 Years if student is unable to complete the course within
scheduled time extension for 2 years is permitted.
Loan should be repaid during course period + 1 year or 6 months after getting Job
whichever is earlier.

Business Loan :The Bank provides both Short Term and Long Term Finance for business purpose
to sold Proprietorship, partnership & Private Limited Companies.

Loan against Property :This is the secured loan provided against property of the person. The person
should be upto the age of 60 years. Loan against property can be taken for any
reason like getting children married, for business expansion and diversification.
Loan is provided for 5 years is at 14.95% Interest rate i.e. 9.95% + 5% margin.
Agriculture Finance :The Bank provided various types of agriculture loan. The loan is provided as short term
and long term loans.
Short Term Loans :Upto Rs. 25 Lacs 12.75% p.a. and the above Rs. 25 Lac 12.25%
Term Loans :Upto Rs. 25 Lac 13.25% p.a. above Rs. 25 Lacs 13% p.a. for direct agricultural advances

Naunihal Deposit Scheme :
Now a days people are more worried about the future of children. So they want to
invest or deposit in such a way that the future of children become safe and no risk
on money invested by them. So they invest money in new schemes provided by
bank. This scheme is a special term deposit scheme. The minor aged 10 and above
and joint account upto the age of 10 years and his natural guardian a Joint account
may be opened.

Amount of deposit :Amount should be deposited is Rs. 500 and in multiple of it for the period of 3
years.

Railway Booking :The bank also provide the facility of online railway booking. People need not to
stand in long queues.

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna :This scheme is provided from the age of 18 to 70 years Bima of Rs. 2 lacs is
provided in Rs. 12 Only.

Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna :Scheme is provided from the age of 18 to 50 years for the Rs. 2 Lacs by paying
annual installment of Rs. 330/-.
People from the rural areas specially labour class deposits money in
their bank accounts more in the season of sowing & the harvesting
crops because the money circulate in the agriculture sector at the
people than the other months. During the period of June and July
people from these area take initiative to open their accounts more
because the major plantation of paddy is done in the area of Malout
and labour class find more work.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Bank should try to take initiative to educate women about the various schemes
and suggest to develop banking habits in them.
Bank should also inform the people about the online facilities provided to them.
People should be informed about the documentation process of various loans and
deposits properly so that they can take the advantage of various schemes in time.
Bank should also come with cash deposit machine as the working of the business
is expanding day by day.
CONCLUSION
This branch of State Bank of Patiala is providing a lot to the people and doing well for
customers satisfaction. It provides quick services to people. Bank should give proper
information about various updates and newly launched schemes. They need to educate
the people about the products and documentation process of various types of loan
provided by bank. There are less people who know about Swapan Luxmi Recurring
Deposit. So it is the responsibility of the bank to provide customer satisfaction and bank
is doing a lot for it.
