WalMart has a global eCommerce footprint in 10 countries, creating digital access

and physical distribution points for customers worldwide.
They operate supercenters, Sams Clubs, e-commerce sites and many other
formats that enable them to serve their customers.
They develop a combination of digital and physical interaction with customers,
remaining well positioned to grow.
Customer-centric focus.
Walmart is well-positioned for the future partially due to their unique assets. They
have more than 10,900 physical points of distribution globally. No other retailer
possesses such an extensive footprint.

Deliver improved comparable store sales by sharpening their merchandising

efforts, price leadership and enhancing service.
Creating transformative growth by adding capabilities in e-commerce and mobile
commerce.
Their goal is to have customers see these channels converge as one unified
relationship with them. They want to deliver a relevant, personalized and seamless
experience across all channels.
Connect more effectively with customers. I, as someone who study marketing, see
customers as a possible threat because of the power they have acquired with
technology. Nowadays, customers have powerful tools to convey their point of
view, making them become one of their biggest threats.
With retail websites around the world, they are doing more to leverage these
physical assets to expand the intersection with digital retail.
Walmart remain focused on driving the productivity loop to leverage operating
expenses. The most important way to deliver against their objective is to increase
sales. By operating and buying for less, were able to lower prices that, in turn,
prompt customers to make more purchases. Making it somehow a threat because
they depend directly of their sales levels. If for some reason, customers decide that
they dont want to buy at Walmart any more, and sales drop they will have
problems because they are basing their strategies in increasing sales.

Operational excellence requires capital discipline and efficiency, their real estate
and construction teams have made great progress in lowering the cost of new
stores and remodels.

Wal-Mart has many law issues around the world. some of them will be detailed
next:
Wal-Mart Stores pleaded guilty in May 2013 to improperly dumping hazardous
waste in California and Missouri, agreeing to pay almost $82 million in fines. The
problems stem from incidents beginning in 2003. At the time, Wal-Mart workers
tossed products, like bleach and fertilizer, into the trash or the local sewer system,
rather than dealing with them as hazardous waste, according to authorities.1
After failing to reach an agreement that would avoid litigation, the federal labor
board issued a complaint against Wal-Mart on Wednesday, formally accusing the
world's largest retailer of breaking labor law during Black Friday strikes by its store
workers.2
Walmart is also facing problems in Mexico and the United States for a case of
bribery that occurred during the construction of more than 2000 stores around
Mexico. Among some of the findings: Former executives for the company
orchestrated a campaign of bribery to obtain construction permits and build stores
more quickly during the past decade, a paper trail of bribery documenting
payments of more than $24 million, and top executives of the company seemed to
shut down an internal investigation until recently.3
The fatal car crash involving a Wal-Mart Truck, and the bus were Tracy Morgan and
fellow comedian McNair, leaving Tracy severely injured and causing McNair to die
in site. Apparently, the preliminary investigation showed that Roper was driving
the Wal-Mart truck at a speed of 65 mph when he crashed into the limo bus of the
comedians. The speed limit on that specific street is only 55 mph, which was even
reduced to 45 mph that time due to an ongoing construction on site.4
Customers are also complaining about false advertising in Wal Mart's web page
alleging that the store is advertising products in one way and selling others.5
