The present work is an effort to through some light on Organizational Behavior of
Basundhara Group Bangladesh. The work would not have been possible to come to the
present shape without the able guidance, supervision and help to me by number of people.

Executive Summary
In this study, we try to investigate the challenging career opportunities for young
professionals of the Basundhara Group provided. How their goal is to attract, retain and
motivate the most competent people.
This study emphasis on how Basundhara Group maintains high recruitment standards and its
providing local and overseas training to its employees. This is done with a view to encourage
Organizational Behavior by continuously upgrading skills, abilities and knowledge and to
meet organizational needs to face future challenges in the ever-changing financial services
industry.
We identify employees' relevant and proper training and development needs and
opportunities to pursue their career goals. We summed up with view of Basundhara Group is
a performance driven organization and career development opportunities are based on merit,
performance and productivity.

Origin of the Report


The main purpose of the study is to fulfill the requirements of Organization
Behavior
(MGT241) The part of our BBA program bearing 3 credits. As the students of Organizational
Behavior, we were assigned by our course instructor to involve in this study.
The course as well as this report helps a student to get necessary knowledge which is very
useful for the students majoring in Organizational Behavior.

Objectives of the Study


The main objective of this term paper is to get the practical insight of the techniques and strat
egies one organization employs while doing their Working.

Scope of the Study


Bashundhara Group and the relative fields were the scope of the study.

Methodology
We use to collect information from various website of business data source to make the
whole report. We use Microsoft Word for report making. We also visited the Basundhara
Group website for the information. A report is prepared and submitted to the respective
course instructor Jannatul Ferdoushi,

Limitations of the Study


There were some obstacles, which were hard to meet up with. The limitations are:
Lack of adequate information due to confidentiality.
Lack of documented and concrete secondary materials.
Direct observation of the customer service of the company requires extensive time
involvement, which may not be possible.
Organizational personnels reluctance to answer the questions.
Basundhara Group includes a variety of activities , and among them is deciding what
staffing needs an organization Behavior has and whether to use independent contractors or
hire employees to fill these needs , recruiting and training the best employees , ensuring they
are high performers , dealing with performance issues and ensuring the personnel and
management practices conforms to various regulations. Activities also include managing
their approach to employee benefits and compensation, employee record and personnel
policies.
Organizational Behavior has shown to be valuable to any companys working employees. It
can be successful in a Responsibility and the challenges for all management regardless of an
organizational behavior. They need to select and retain talented employees, undertake
employee training and development programs and dismantle traditional bureaucratic
structures that limit employees ability to be innovative and creative.
World-class organization use performance measurement systems to determine whether they
are fulfilling their vision and meeting their customer-focused strategic goals. Leading-edge
organizations use performance measurement to gain insight into, and make judgments about,
the effectiveness and efficiency of their programs, processes, and people. These best-in-class
organization decide on what indicators they will use the measure their progress in meeting
strategic goals and objectives, gather and analyze performance data and then use those data
to drive improvements in their organization and successfully translate strategy into action.
Thus in todays organizations, the use of Strategic organization Behavior information is to
help set agree-upon performance goals, allocate and prioritize resources, inform managers to
either confirm or change current policy or program directions to meet those goals , and report
on the success in meeting those goals.

History of the Organization


The Bashundhara Group has started operation as a real estate venture
known as "Bashundhara" under the aegis of the Group's first concern the East West Property
Development (Pvt) Ltd in 1987. This project turned out to be a very
successful one and hadhelped foster the growth of trust and confidence of the
urbanpeople in "Bashundhara".Dhaka's burgeoning population, coupled with a conspicuously
slow growth of housing led to the landmark success of Bashundhara. Driven by the
ramifications of this success, Bashundhara geared up to invest in new fields, including
manufacturing and trading. More enterprises were established in the early 1990s,
covering diverse activities involving the production of cement, paper and pulp, tissue
paper, steel, LP Gas bottling and distribution, and a trading company, among others.
The group experienced this tremendous growth in a span of less than 10 years.
During this period, additional schemes on land development and real estate were
launched and those projects focused more sharply on increasing responsiveness to
client needs. The Group's first publicly- traded company, the Meghna Cement Mills
Limited, is currently listed on the two Stock Exchanges of Bangladesh.
The Group now has over 20 major concerns located in different areas of the country. The mul
ti- faceted shopping mall and recreation centre called the Bashundhara City
has added glamour to the growth of the group. The Bashundhara City Development
Ltd is one step ahead in the longstanding effort to strengthen links with the general people thr
ough the unique offering of
commercial operations and recreation facilities
under
single roof. East West Media Group Ltd is the mass media enterprise of the
Bashundhara Group that was established in 2009. It now owns Bangla dailies The
Kaler Kantho and The Bangladesh Pratidin, English newspaper the Daily Sun
and bilingual online portal banglanews24.com..The media house is also planning to launch
a FM radio and a television channel soon.
The Group has come a long way in reaching its goals by complimenting to client needs, learn
ing real time lessons from past projects, innovating and partnering its project
implementation process. Through major investment undertakings in all key sectors,
Bashundhara has meaning fully contributed to the countrys economic stability in
financial and capital markets. Underlying all of the Group's activities are the common
threads of change, flexibility, and fostering closer ties with the Government, the City
Corporation and Bashundhara clients. Most of its projects have been success stories this fact alone is enough to justify a sense of confidence in the Group's future.

Mission, Vision, Goal of Basundhara Group


Bashundhara Group (BG) is a leading private
sector industrial corporation in Bangladesh.
It currently has 14 ongoing concerns, ranging from real estate development and management
to manufacturing and services. The BG strives to work in partnership with the
Government for promoting sustainable development, environment preservation,
and employment generation and poverty reduction. The BG has a particular focus on urban
housing, recreation centers, and commercial ventures. Thus, the motto of the Group is For th
e People, for the Country. At the crux of all industrial processes deployed at the
Groups enterprises stands the need to ensure environmental stability. As a result, conscious
efforts are made to use re- cycled material as industrial input.

The era of information and communication technology has changed the world with a
whisker and now communication has emerged as the key to trade and development.
The rapid development of information and communication technology has turned the

into a global village. Moreover globalization and its all pervasive impacts on states and their
economies have made life more competitive, complex and technology driven.
Proximity has turned meaningless as the world is now in the tip of a finger and
economy the ultimate focus of a nation and national life. Inter-state trading
dependence, investment potentials and free flow of information and raw materials have
made the world thriving on the edge of competitiveness.

Management skills are the secret tools in the hands of any manager. They are the special
abilities that are different in different individuals. Managers in small businesses have
enormous responsibilities. They must wear many different hats--and take on more duties than
a department manager in a large company who has assistant managers and supervisors to
share in the responsibilities. So a small business manager must have superior organizational
skills for the department to run smoothly and with a productive and satisfied workforce.
Technical skill: Technical skill encompasses the ability to apply specialized knowledge or
expertise. When you think the skills of professionals such as civil engineers or oral surgeons
you typically focus on their technical skills. Through extensive formal education they have
learned the special knowledge and practices of their field.
Human skill: The ability to work with understands and motivates other people both
individually and group defines human skills. Many people are technically proficient but
interpersonally incompetent. They might poor listeners unable to understand the needs of
other or have difficulty managing conflicts. Because managers get things done through other
people they must have good human skills to communicate motivate and delegate.
Conceptual skills: Managers must have the mental ability to analyze and diagnose complex
situation. These tasks require conceptual skills. Decision making for instance requires
managers to identify problems develop alternative situation to correct those problem
evaluation those alternative situation and select the best alternative one. Managers can be
technically and interpersonally competent yet still fail because of an inability to rationally
process and interpret information.

worker may be immensely capable of doing some work, nothing can be achieved if he is not
willing to work.

Bashundhara Group fulfill the Employee variety of need Hunger, thirst, Shelter, sex, and
other bodily needs. After security and protection, then affection Belongingness and
friend ship, Recantation, achievement etc

So we think Bashundhara Group follow the Hierarchy of Needs Theory .

Conclusion
The globalization of business is forcing managers to struggle with complex issues as
they seek to gain or sustain a competitive advantage. Bashundhara Group is one of
the largest Group of Companies in Bangladesh. They also share values, traits and
behaviors that are highly regarded for success in the organization.
