Part 1:
Creating a Plan for this assignment:
The faculty of planning is the part and parcel of human intellect. It is the main
cleavage which creates difference between humans and rest of animals. Human
intellect is measured by the quality of planning he offered to overcome problems
I his life. However, the plan of this assignment is to deliver adequate
understanding of the processes and the sub processes in organization. I have
divided my plan in to 4 sections; identification of the goal of this assignment,
Review Knowledge domains which are required to process the data, Compiling
the assignment, Verifying assignment requirements and Finishing.
Identify goals

Review of
Knowledge Domains

1. Understand Assignment requirements

tutorial
2. Create scope
3. Identify Sections

1. Review of Topic
2. Analyze the Data
3. Identify appropriate

examples

Compile the
gathered Data

Verify and Finish

1. Apply the required written theme

1. Check grammar

errors
2. Design the Analyzed data into a coherent order

2. Verify sentences

orders
3. Add Cover page

3. Add page numbers

Part 2:
Organization overview:
I worked at Al-Hamra architecture design studio as an Architect for 1 year. The organization
is offering Architectural design services from last 35 years. This design studio was
comprised of little number of workers. The organization comprised of a Design director, an
architect, Computer-aided design drafts man and one janitor. I was working as an architect
and my responsibilities were to deliver initial design proposals to design director. In addition,
after approval of initial design I used to make submission drawings and working drawings.
The drawings were drafted by draftsman by following my given sketches.
Part 3:

Organization processes:
Design processes:
The main service which my organization provides is architectural design service.
It includes clients requirements to be transferred in to architectural design.
Moreover, it also includes creating options for initial design proposals for clients.
I was doing this process by taking inputs from my design director and then
according to his instructions transform it to design language.
Weaknesses:
The major weakness of design process was the submission of design proposal on
time. It is very difficult to estimate the time for design delivery. In addition,
sometime design proposals were not approved by client due to some miss
understanding of design theme.
Submission Drawing Process:
In this process we create drawings after getting approval from client. These
drawings then submitted to local building authority and then they verify the
standards. In this process my design director used to describe me the details
which I need to tackle in creating these drawings.
Weaknesses:
The primary weakness of this process was the design standards error which
occurred due to clients requirements. For example, some time clients require
spaces which are not according to standard. In this way we submit drawings and
then these drawings rejected due to non conformance to design standards.
Drafting Process:

This process covers all the drawings creation part and it was done by draftsman.
Drafts man uses computer aided design to create all the working drawings as per
my sketch after consulting with design director. Moreover, this process also gives
building quantities in order to prepare documents for tender.
Weaknesses:
The major weakness of this process was revisions made by client. These
revisions delayed the working design drawing deliveries which ultimately disturb
the draftsman working efficiency.
Part 4:
The most beautiful thing which I noticed in human life is that nothing is perfect.
The idea of perfectness is always approximate and relative. For example, in my
organization there were so many processes which I thought should not be done
in that manner. For example, in design process design director should involve me
in clients meeting in this way I could understand clients perspective in depth.
Clients meetings should be twice a week during initial phase of design as clients
meets one time in a week. Clients meetings create good understanding between
design team.

Procedure:
1. The whole design team should be allowed to attend clients meetings.
Responsible person:
Design Director
2. The initial design proposal should mainly focus on the clients perspective.
Responsible Person:
Design Architect
3. There should be transparency between clients requirements and architect
understanding.
Responsible Person:
Design Director
4. Design director should define time limit which can give tolerance to late
submission.

5. Plotters and printers should be checked fortnightly because it delays

proposal drawings deliveries.
Responsible Person:
Printers and Plotter Company

Conclusion:
Nature equipped human mind with the faculty of self assessment to improve
oneself from lower level to higher level. In the same way organizations is the
group of individuals who functions for processes. These processes always need
self assessment to improve their standards. However, these standards are
always relative and approximate. The best standard could be nature because it
defines the criteria in the best way but it needs deep thinking in order to
understand how nature maintains quality of its processes. Humans still need
great Endeavour to understand and to promote these processes in their general
organization processes.
