PADRECC patient education lecture:

“Driving with Parkinson’s Disease”

Presented by Sheryl Aanerud, Medical Program Coordinator, MDV Driver Program, and Genevieve DeRenne,
Occupational Therapist, Providence Rehabilitation Service.

It will be taking place on Friday, March 12 from 10am‐11am in the PVAMC Auditorium.  I have attached the
flyer.  Although we are targeting a Parkinson’s patient base, the objectives suggest it would be applicable to a
larger geriatric audience.

Learning Objectives:
1. Provide an orientation to DMV's Medically At-Risk Driver Program, both mandatory and
voluntary reporting components.
2. Discuss the standards for mandatory reporting: severe and uncontrollable; impairments
versus conditions.
3. Identify steps to prolong safe mobility and recognizing when it may be necessary to
report to DMV.

Feel free to disseminate to anyone who may be interested in attending.  Thanks,

Ryan Rieger, MHPA
Administrative Officer
