This seminar was very important for us. We learnt to cooperate, make contacts and help one another. We learnt how to report on federalism. We also learnt how the good journalist should be impartial. We really learnt a lot. of NUSOJ The training focused on personal safety, reporting on federalism and the new deal compact, covering war and conflict, ethical reporting and reporting on state-building and political transformation in Somalia.The training was delivered by experts although this was the first time such training was held for Baidoa Journalists. 16. The Minister of Information of the Interim South West Administration (ISWA), Hassan Abdi Mohamed, and the Secretary General of NUSOJ, Mohamed Ibrahim, officially opened the workshop. I thank those who took part in the facilitation and organizing of this workshop for the South West journalists, Mr. Mohamed said. I also want to extend my sincerest thanks and appreciation to UNSOM for facilitating this important workshop for our journalists who have been working under a difficult environment. Furthermore, I want to highlight the role of NUSOJ for standing up for the journalists wherever they are and being a shoulder to lean on, he said. The Secretary-General of NUSOJ, Mohamed Ibrahim, commended the journalists for their willingness to learn. He emphasized that this workshop was the first of its kind to be held in Baidoa for journalists from the South West region The workshop focused on personal safety, reporting on federalism and the New Deal Compact, covering war and conflict, ethical reporting and reporting on state-building and political transformation in Somalia, Mr. Ibrahim said.
