Local Republican Leaders Endorse Rebecca Negron for

Congressional District 18
Stuart, Fla. Republican Candidate Rebecca Negron today announced several local Republican
leaders have endorsed her in her bid for Florida Congressional District 18, which represents
Martin, St. Lucie and Palm Beach Counties. The local Republican leaders include Martin County
REC Past Chairwomen Susan Auld, Kate Boland and Sherry Plymale, Martin County REC Past
Chairman Charlie Kane, as well as Martin County Republican Diane McKechnie and St. Lucie
County Republican Michael Hofstee.
One of the most important issues that will always be at the forefront of our district, as well as
our state and nation, is our economy and job market, said Auld. I am confident Rebecca
Negron is the right person our community needs to help build a sustainable economy by creating
innovative opportunities for local employers, as well as developing new ways to make Florida a
destination for job creation. I am happy to endorse Rebecca Negron for Congressional District
18.
It is important to me that we continue to push for smaller government, individual liberties and
fiscal responsibility in Washington, said Boland. Rebecca Negron knows the importance of
conserving our core Republican values for our communities in the planning of the future of our
state and country.
As a member of the Martin County School Board, Rebecca Negron understands the importance
of keeping the federal government out of our school systems, said Plymale. I am confident she
has the skill set necessary to ensure we are implementing the best educational policies possible to
guarantee our future generations are both well-educated and well-prepared when they enter the
job market.
Rebecca is the Republican candidate to best serve our community in Congress, said Kane.
Raising a family in the Treasure Coast, Rebecca knows the issues important to our district,
including education, our economy and the need for less government intrusion, and is committed
to improving our slice of Southeast Florida. I am happy to lend her my support for her
campaign.

REBECCA NEGRON FOR CONGRESS | PAGE 2

As a woman who has worked in Republican politics at every level of government and as one
who has had the sincere pleasure and honor of working for and with some of the most prestigious
and effective Republican leaders of our time, it is my pleasure and honor to endorse my friend
and fellow Republican Leader Rebecca Negron in her heroic run for the open Congressional D
istrict18 seat, said McKechnie.
Many small business owners, such as myself, understand the hardships that have come with the
increased taxes and regulations the government has imposed on us in recent years, said Dr.
Hofstee. Rebecca Negron is fiscally responsible, and will fight to keep such regulations and
taxes low, and look for ways to cut unnecessary spending in Washington. I support Rebecca
Negron for U.S. Congress and look forward to seeing our government become more efficient
under her leadership when she is elected.
I am humbled by the support from our local Republican leaders, said Negron. Our community
is very important to me and I intend to ensure our local projects, such as the Indian River
Lagoon, can continue to support our region's economy by bringing national attention to the
necessity of improving water quality and quantity. In addition, we must deliver a message to
Washington that our schools must be kept out of the hands of the federal government and we
must exercise better fiscal responsibility, keeping hard-earned dollars in our families pockets
while reducing government waste. I look forward to discussing these issues on the campaign trail
and to the opportunity of serving our local communities in Congress.
Since announcing her candidacy for Congressional District 18, Negron has been endorsed by
Maggies List, a federal political action committee dedicated to electing conservative women to
federal office.
Negron has served on the Martin County School Board since 2012 and was re-elected without
opposition in 2014. A registered nurse, who has practiced in the field of obstetrics, Negron has
an Associates degree from Palm Beach State College and a Bachelors degree in Nursing from
Indiana Wesleyan University. Negron is the mother of three children, each of whom attended
Martin County public schools and graduated from the IB Program at South Fork High
School. Negron is married to Joe Negron, a Florida State Senator who represents Senate District
32 in the Florida Legislature.
