Itismucheasiertofakeasmileandofferaweakhelpinghandthantotrulyinvestyourtimeandenergyintoothers.

Mostoftheyouthinourvalleywakeupeachmorningwithgenuineintentionsofdoingtherightthingandabidingbya
codeofkindnessandrespect.And,themajorityoftheseteensdothisbecauseitfeelsgood,ratherthanreportingon
collegeapplicationforms.JayceyBeard,asenioratEagleValleyHighSchoolisoneofthosespecialteenagerswho
treatsotherswithcompassion,loveandsincerity.

Beardshouldbeadmiredforhertenacityandstamina.Thisisnotareferencetoherathleticabilities(whichare
impressive),butthemultitudeofextracurricularactivities,clubsandstudentleadershipgroupsthatsheserves.She
movesthroughoutherdayinaconfident,cheerfulmannerwhileputtingother'sneedsbeforeherown.Sheisamember
oftheNationalHonorSocietyandhasmaintaineda3.75GPAorhigherduringherhighschoolyears.Sheisastudent
leaderforEagleValleyHighSchool'sDADD(DevilsAgainstDestructiveDecisions)club,whereshewasonthe
planningcommitteeforthispastApril'sfourthannualantidrug/alcoholparty,Don'tGetTiedUpWithDrugs.The
purposeofthispartyistoencourageEagleCountyyouthtomakehealthy,substancefreechoices,whileenjoying
activitiesattheEdwardsWECMRDFieldHouse.BeardwasalsoselectedbythestateofColoradoto...continue

communitypartnershipsandcitizeninvolvementinourquestforasafer
