ThepurposeofthissolutionistoassistCSAendusersinreturningasystemtoapreCSAconfigurationstatesothattheCSAwizard
canberunagain.

Solution:

PerformthefollowingstepstosettheCelerrasystemandControlStationbacktoapreCSAstate.Pleasenotethatifthesystemisinamisconfiguredorpartiallyconfiguredstate,thefollowing
stepsmaynotworkandamoreintensivemanualcleanupwouldberequired,asindicatedinthenotesbelow:
1.Runthe#/nasmcd/sbin/clariion_mgmtstopcommandtoteardowntheNATorProxy_ARPconfiguration.
#/nasmcd/sbin/clariion_mgmtstop|skip_rules
Note:Useclariion_mgmtinfotodetermineifNATorProxyARPisconfigured.Ifthecommandreturns"Error12:Notconfigured",thentheclariion_mgmtstopcommanddoesnotneed
toberun.Insomesituations,theNATorProxyARPconfigurationmayfailtobetorndowncompletelybythestopswitch.Ifso,usetheclariion_mgmtstopskip_rulescommand,then
manuallyeditthe/etc/hostsand/nas/site/sp_infowiththedefaultinternalIPaddressesfortheSPs,thenremovethe/nas/site/clariion_mgmt.cfgfile(ifitexists),andreboottheControl
Station.Finally,verifytheactualIPaddressesrunningontheSPsandchangethembacktothedefaultCelerravalues(128.221.252.200/128.221.253.201)usingnaviclih<sp>
networkadminsetaddressxxx.xxxxgatewayxxx.xxx,orifnecessary,viadirectconnectiontotheSPLANportusingawebbrowserandthe/setupprogram.

2.CopytheS95cable_checkscriptto/etc/rc3.dandchmodthefiletomakeitexecutableusingthechmod755S95cable_check
command.
Note:TAtacertainpointduringtheinitialCSAinstallationprocess,theS95cable_checkfileisdeleted.Ifacopyhasnotbeenpreviouslysaved,copytheS95cable_checkscriptfromtheNAS
mediaCDROM,fromthe/EMC/nasdirectorytothe/etc/rc3.ddirectory.Ifacopycannotbedownloaded,contactEMCSupportandreferencetheNASversioninvolved.
3.Removethehidden/tmp/.factory_check_successfulfileifitexists.ExistenceofthefilewillpreventpropercompletionoftheCSAconfigurationprocessanddeletestheS95cable_checkfileon
bootupifpresentweneedtheS95cable_checkfiletostarttheCSAdiscoveryandconfigurationprocess.

4.Saveacopyofthe/etc/sysconfig/networkscripts/ifcfgeth3fileto/home/nasadminanddeletetheexistingfilein/etc/sysconfig/networkscripts
Caution!Itisimportanttoeitherdeletetheifcfgeth3filealtogether,orrenamethefilewithoutanyreferenceto"ifcfgeth3"inthename(forexample:#mvifcfgeth3eth3.oriwould
suffice).Simplyrenamingthefilefromifcfgeth3toifcfgsavorifcfgeth3.bakwillNOTdisabletheinterfaceandthefilewillbereadonbootupornetworkrestartandwillconfigureeth3.

5.RemoveanyextraorunwantedentriesfortheControlStationhostnameandexternalIPaddressfromthe/etc/hosts(usingthevieditorandthelike)thatmaybepresentiftheCSA
processwasrunmultipletimes.
6.Ifdesired,cleanuptheEmailUserconfigurationfileanddisabletheConnectHometransportmechanisms:
#rm/nas/sys/.email_user.config(NAS5.6.39andlater)
#/nas/bin/nas_emailuserinit

#/nas/sbin/nas_connecthomemodifymodem_priorityDisabledftp_priorityDisabledemail_priorityDisabled(NAS5.5.31,5.6.36andlater)
7.Connecttotheserialportonthefront(orbackonnewermodels)oftheControlStation,useHyperTerminalandconfigureasfollows:COM1orCOM2Bitspersecond:19200Databits:8
Parity:NoneStopbits:1FlowControl:NoneverifythatAutodetectandANSIareselectedforterminalemulation.

8.ReboottheControlStationandwaitforthefollowingconsolescreenmessagebeforecontinuingwiththenextstep:
Startingcable_check:ThisisanNS40FCsystemwaitingtobeconfiguredbyCelerraStartupAssistant(CSA).UseCSAtoverify
thatthesystemhasbeencabledproperly.Oncethecheckiscomplete,CSAwillinstructtheCableCheckUtilitytocontinueand
NASserviceswillbestartedandaloginpromptprovided.IfyouwanttobreakoutfromthisandlogintotheControlStation
(youmustreallyknowwhatyouaredoing)press"L".
WaitingforCelerraStartupAssistant(CSA),tocontinue........................

9.OntheWindowsclientrunningtheCSAwizard,removetheexistingCSAxmlfilefromthefollowinglocation:ProgramFiles>EMC>CSA>startup>test>CSA_000e0ccfc72a.xml(exampleof
filename),orduringtheWelcomephaseoftheCSA,select"NewConfiguration"toignoreanyexisting.xmlfilesthatmightresideontheClientfrompreviousCSAconfigurations.

10.StartuptheCSAwizardfromtheWindowsclient.Thewelcomepage>NextshouldthenbeabletoreadtheMACaddressbroadcastandcontinuewithremainingconfigurationstepsusing
CSA.
