Description_of_tncident:
Ifirst encountered officer S. Clbert badge number (D17) on thursday morning about 7:20 on
my way to work where i encountered a detour coming from Elliott st going toward Hancock St
when officer clibert saw me he pointed his thumb indicating that i need to take a left in
which i proceeded to do...i observed another officer standing with officer Clbert...but
couldn't make out his rank. i proceeded to take the left which is a sharp left and than
another immediate right turn onto Hancock Ct. i was driving on main st when officer
Clbert pulled behind me with his blue lights flashing. i pulled over and the officer
approached me and show me your drivers license and he said i guess you want to know why i
pulled you over...and of course my response was yes. he (officer Clbert) started to yell
at me...saying i suppose you don't think that you were driving aggressively... said 1 had
no idea of what you are referring to...he repeated that again to me and i ga ve the same
response...! he said you made a fool out of me in front of my Sargent...and he told me to
pursue you. i repeated for what and he indicated that he was going to give me a citation
but didn't have any with him and that i would be getting one in the mail...and that 1
could count on it! i repeated again that i had no idea what you are talking about...i said
you told mo to go left and i did what io the big deal.,.and he asked me if 1 wae dumb or
just plain stupid.
i asked him again for what and he than turned on me and said for that i am going to call
it in and write you up...within a few minutes an officer arrived and i assume it was his
Sargent...officer Clbert than said i am going to write you up for not wearing a seat
belt...i informed the officer that i was wearing one and in order to get my drivers
license and my registration i had to take it off and he replied and said to me that i
didn't see you take it off...i replied to the officer that i think your having a bad day
as i didn't do anything wrong and if i embarrassed you for whatever reason while you are
1on you detail...i apologize. the officer than proceeded to write up the ticket and came
back and asked me what year my car was and i told him that it was a 2008...he than said he
was also going to write me up for not having my registration...and i said to him...give me
a break. when the officer finally came back with the ticket he said 1 am giving you a
citation but was giv! ing me a break on the sealt belt...and with that he said to me
smiling take a look at the ticket...and i did and he wrote it up for a fine of $350.00 and
was smiling all the while.
i am 70 years old and i can tell you in all my experiences with the police i have never
been treated in this manner...i ama from a yes sir...no sir generation...and to have a
police officer get off on giving a fine like that surely disturbs me...and hopefully the
medford police department...i having taken pictures of the site and i Gan tell you that if
i was doing 40 miles an hour as he claims...even 30 miles an hour in taking those close
turns...4 would be on my side...it is totally ludicrous to thing that i could be speeding
in that area...it was totally fabricated... i hope to prove that...in summation...i think
that this officer will be a burden on your department and if he was in the corporate world
with a union...he would have been fired...i don't think any citizen should be treated in
this manner,..it was totally an intimidating moment...and the evidence is clear by looking
at the streets involved and the punishment rendered.
