peninsulas”?
• Europe is sometimes called “a peninsula of peninsulas”
because there are several other peninsulas that skew out
from the north, west, and south.

• The dictionary definition of a peninsula is a piece of land
almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body
of water.

• The Italian Peninsula stretches into the Mediterranean Sea.
