NARRATIVE REPORT ON NUTRITION DAY CELEBRATION

I.

INTRODUCTION
Annually, in the month of July, the whole nation solemnizes the Nutrition Month purposely to
disseminate message about nutrition to all Filipinos. This years theme Timbang Iwasto, sa Tamang
Nutrisyon at Ehersisyo, centers on the promotion of eating vegetables habitually and endorsement of
cooking viands that contains any vegetable varieties that contain good health.
In cooperation with this nutritional aim of National Nutrition Council, the Department of Education
enjoins all schools to participate in the celebration by stipulating activities that will emphasize the
consequences of veggies inclusion on meals and its accounts on the health of every pupil.
As compliance, the Sapangkawayan Elementary School, as spearheaded by Ms. Antonette L. Lumasac
has celebrated the Nutrition Month. In our own little way, our pupils are becoming aware of the
importance of being healthy especially when we commemorate our Nutrition Month Celebration with the
theme last July 31, 2015 at 7:30 oclock in the morning.

II.

ACTIVITIES
Right attitude toward food choices, and good eating habits imparted to students during the different
activities such as: parade wearing head dress made of different fruits and vegetables based on their
creativity; Mr. and Ms. Nutrition 2015 where in the resourcefulness and creativity of the pupils was seen
in their creative attire, their talents related to nutrition was showed, and their thoughts regarding nutritious
food was deepen through question and answer. In addition, we conducted cooking contest among grade
IV to Grade VI with the main ingredients of pumpkin done at lunch time and; poster making among
Kindergarten pupils to Grade III was done after lunch. All of them completed their works at prescribed
time and posted each ones creation on the board for judging. It was indeed a day of fun! A day of talent
show! And most of all, a day of nutritious food!
Four oclock in the afternoon of July 31 was the culmination and awarding program. Several activities
and competition were dovetailed and fast tracked. The celebration had successfully culminated and was
enthusiastically enjoined. Students cleaned and cleared the mess for the next weeks scholastic activities.
