The fastness properties stated on the shade card were determined with 1/1 SD
dyeing on bleached cotton.
Exceptions are the black dyes which were tested at 2 %.
Fastness to light
Fastness to washing 40 C
Fastness to water
Fastness to perspiration
2)
he heavy metal is complexly bonded and therefore an integral part of the dye
T
molecule.
The TUBANTIN range does not contain any dyes which can be split into amines of
the MAC classes III A1 and A2.

Note:
The cooling phase of 130 90 C should be as regular as possible, as the affinity
of the Tubantin dyes decreases at above 100 C but increases again after cooling
to 90 C.
Cooling at a gradient of 1.5 C/min from 130 C to 90 C and then at 2 C/min
from 90 C to 60 C is recommended.

1. General Information
The TUBANTIN shade card shows our direct dyes for dyeing celllulosic fibres and
blends with synthetic fibres.
2. S.D.C. Classification
Class A Dyes with good levelling and migration properties. Dyes of class A
require additional electrolytes for full exhaustion. Initial unlevelness
is equalised during the dyeing process.
Class B Dyes with low migration properties; equalisation can, however,
be controlled by the addition of electrolytes.
Class C Dyes with very low levelling properties. Level dyeing can only
be achieved by controlling the temperatures and the addition of
electrolytes.
3. Dissolving the dyes
Work the dye into a paste with a small quantity of cold soft water then add the
required quantity of hot soft water and boil. The quantity of water to be used
depends on the solubility of the individual dyes. This information is given in the
shade card.
4. Dyeing instructions
4.1 Recommendations, standard process
The exhaustion of TUBANTIN dyes can be controlled with levelling agents, temperature control and salt addition. With cellulose regenerated fibres it is better to start at
temperatures of above 80 C to prevent excessive swelling of the fibres. On equipment for dyeing packages in the creel in particular, an initial temperature close to
the boiling temperature should be selected. The wet fastness of materials dyed with
TUBANTIN dyes can be significantly improved by a cationic aftertreatment with
REWIN products such as REWIN ACP or REWIN FSN.
For TUBANTIN turquoise dyes, we recommend adding 0.5 1.0 g/l sodium
carbonate and using Glauber salt instead of common salt. As a general rule,
the TUBANTIN black dyes should be used with a soda addition of 2 g/l
(exception: TUBANTIN Black RD).
