SR-20
Pipe and cable detector
The SeekTech SR-20 has been specially designed for seeking underground or hidden supply
lines and enables the rapid, simple and precise localisation of water or gas pipes, telecommunication or electrical power cables and other current-conducting or metallic supply lines.
Thanks to the extremely low weight and
effective power management, even longer
measurement operations can be carried
out effectively without fatigue and in one
session.
The high processor performance of the
system combined with advanced antenna
technology and the user-friendly cartographic information display enable the
rapid, precise and reliable localisation of
underground supply lines.

Innovative technology for

effective measurement
operations
The devices 3D-antenna system enables
both inductive and passive localisation of
pipes and cables from any position and direction, independent of the users location.
This is an invaluable practical advantage
when there are hindrances or in the vicinity of roads.
Additionally, the antenna technology enables the identification of all current-conducting cables within a certain area, regardless of their direction!
Even when there are numerous underground lines in a confined area, the target line can be distinguished from the
neighbouring lines by means of several
active and advanced passive search modes.

Simple to operate,
simple to learn
You can check at any time whether or not
you are still located over the target line
by means of the continual display of depth
and current and the selectable acoustic
distance signal.
The search result can be reliably
verified via the easily understandable cartographic
display which shows direction arrows, signal
strength and proximity signal.

The sensor-controlled
automatic background
lighting thereby guarantees
optimum display at all times,
even under poor lighting conditions.

With the SR-20, you can carry out the

most difficult localisations and mark
supply lines reliably; even branch
lines from other directions and
even lines whose existence was previously completely unknown to you!

Active and passive

search modes
Four active search frequencies in the SR20 provide the versatility that a complex
search requires.
In combination with the passive search
frequencies, you can now localise all signals that are emitted by metallic pipes
and cables within a certain area.
The advantages are obvious: Several
active frequencies can be used to check
the search result; passive modes enable
verification of search results or the localisation of unknown pipes and cables, and
extended power and radio modes assist
the user in effectively searching an area.

Everything on one display

everything at a glance
The SR-20 provides you with precise positional data and the routing of underground supply lines on a clear, easily understandable real time display.
The permanent display of four different
localisation indicators supports more rapid
and productive searching. Changes in the
target signal can be recognised immediately and the quality of the localisation
can be verified continually.

Its as easy as it looks

The optimum operation mode for every localisation task

No complicated conversion of measured values, no interpretation of recorded

measured values. Data acquisition and complex calculation processes proceed
unnoticed in the background; the acquired signals are processed immediately,
visually prepared as spatially-referenced information and displayed in real time
as a dynamic cartographic model.
Thanks to the SR-20s cartographic indicator, all the required
information is available at a glance on one display:

Proximity signal
Shows the distance from the pipe and cable
seeker to the signal source. Maximum signal at the shortest distance from the target.

Frequency
Shows the currently set search frequency.

Mode
Shows the currently set search mode
in pictogram form.

Distance / Depth
Is recorded continuously and displayed in
real time. Depth units can be displayed
in metres or feet and inches, as desired.

Line routing

Due to the intelligent display technology,

the cartographic display changes automatically depending on the search mode
which is set or on the proximity to the
target line, for example, as a zoom display when approaching the target, or as
a display of the transmitter position in
probe mode.
Without looking away from the display
or having to place the device aside, adjustments of settings and modifications
of parameters can be made by one-handed operation of the neat operating panel
during the measurement.

Guides the user from his

current position towards
the target line.

Current strength

Used for the localisation of the signal

from a probe in pipes, cables or tunnels
that do not conduct current or cannot be
localised by other means.

For example, electrical appliances radiate these signals to a certain degree to

the electrical conductors to which they
are connected, or underground supply
lines function as antennas for high-power,
low-frequency radio transmissions and
reflect these signals.

For example, the SeeSnake camera

system for pipeline inspection can be
used and the Flexmitter transmitter integrated in the camera head can be precisely located with the SR-20.
This combination is a particularly
effective and precise method
of locating leaks!

These current and radio frequencies can

be passively detected if the field strength
is sufficient and thus enable the localisation of the corresponding supply line.

signal detected by the
omnidirectional antenna.

information on the SeeSnake TV

from page 56 onwards.

The ST-510 has an induction-dependent

acoustic signal generator, an energy-saving
function with automatic power-off, and an
LCD display with automatic background
lighting on which the line resistance, current flow and power are displayed.

Combine the SR-20 pipe and cable detector with the ST-510 transmitter for
the active localisation of pipes and cables in five different frequency ranges.
The signals can be transferred via direct
terminal connection, inductively via a transmission coil, or optionally with an inductive signal clamp on underground metal
pipes or cables, as required. If required,
the cables can be extended by two 15
metre long cables.

In passive mode, the SR-20 searches

for electromagnetic noise in underground supply lines. Electromagnetic signals can be induced in underground supply lines in various ways.

In this mode, the supply line whose route

and position is to be determined is supplied with energy by a transmitter, for
example the ST-510, and the line is then
