Chapter 2:

Install/Upgrade Lock Radio

Prerequisites
It is important to minimize potential ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) by
using the following practices:

Power down - Always power down electrical devices by disconnecting the

power source. Remove batteries, unplug units from receptacle, etc.

Ground yourself

Use of an antistatic wrist strap, sole grounders, and conductive shoes is

recommended.
Discharge static by touching a grounded object such as a metal surface
other than the one you are working with. Do this frequently during your
install/upgrade procedure.
Minimize contact with the components

Touch the components as little as possible.

Avoid touching the surfaces of the wide parts, control boards, or radio
modules. Hold these components by the edge.
Other tips

If possible, maintain the relative humidity at 40% or greater. Dry areas

conduct ESD.
If possible ensure that certain components are grounded.
