Subject: Database and Language Update

In order to execute the language or database update, please ensure that the PC is correctly
connected to the Konfort equipment as described in the sections 5.1.2 and 5.1.4.
If the machine is a K610 or K650, set the external interface communicator in NORMAL
position.
If the machine is a K670, set the external interface communicator in NORM. Position.

1. Update Procedure
Access to the service menu of the Konfort device. The display shows the masque indicated
below (Figure 5.2.1).

Insert the code 8278 and press Enter to confirm.

In the display appears the following inscription (Figure 5.2.2).

Start the application ACE Konfort 6x0 Upload Application1.

The application window is shown in Figure 3.

The application has four areas: two for enabling the upload, and two for parameters
selection.
Upload enabling Areas:
a) DB upload
If selected, it communicates to the device that the data DB of the car should be
transferred to the Konfort machine storage.
b) Language upload
If selected, it communicates to the device that one of the language files should be
transferred to the Konfort machine storage.
Parameters Selection Areas:
c) Language Group selection (Choose the group to upload)
Allows the selection of the language group file to transfer to the EEPROM.
d) COM serial port selection ( Choose the COM port)
Allows you to choose the serial port to be used for the file transfer to the EEPROM.
The Option TX delay [cycles] has been provided for the cases in which a reduction of
transmission speed of the information is required, for example if you are using a serial-USB
adaptor between the PC and the interface cable. Please coordinate with the TEXA technical
assistance service when using this function.
By pressing the button Upload the update starts.

If both DB Upload and Language Upload are selected, the application transfers both
the cars DB and the language group file with a single operation. Besides, if the unit to
update is a K670, also the auto diagnosis file is updated.
For example, in order to transfer both the cars DB and the languages group file2, through
the COM 2 port, set the application as in Figure 4 and press Upload.

The application informs the user about the Upload status by means of a scroll bar.
During the transfer of the displayed files of the Konfort recharge station, the message
indicated below appears.

At the end of the update, you should switch off the equipment and subsequently disconnect
the programming interface or the serial cable used. The performed updates will be effective
after the restart only.
Remark: If the equipment has already been activated and a new database has
been uploaded. Refer to the instructions manual for indication about the right
procedure.

2 Possible problems during the use

A. After pressing the Upload button, the application shows the

following window.
This problem is generated because the files to transfer are not in
the right directory, therefore, check their position. The application
will go out of the execution-

B. After pressing the Upload button, the application

shows the following window.
The problem is generated because the selected
serial port is not in the used PC. In order to
proceed with the transfer please select another port
and consequently move the serial cable.

C. After pressing the Upload button, the application

shows the following window.
The problem is generated because the selected
serial port is used by another application. In order to
proceed with the transfer you should select another
port and then move the serial cable.

D. After pressing the upload

The
error
shown
underlines that the problem is
generated because the application
has received no answer after
having sent a data segment. It is
necessary to check the serial
connection.
