HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW HIM?

YE SHALL KNOW HIM BY HIS NAME

READING: Heb 1:1-4 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by
the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by
whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right
hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a
more excellent name than they.

1. SON OF GOD:
Dan 3:23-25
23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning
fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors,
Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and
the form of the fourth is like the Son of God .

Luke 1:35
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the
Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son
of God.

John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be
saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath
not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God .

1 John 1:1-3
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have
looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which
was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly
our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we
may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and
eternal life.

Rev 19:11-12 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called
Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on
his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

7. GATE (DOOR):
John 10:7-9 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if
any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

8. GOD:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is
the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Rom 9:1-5
1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the
law, and the service of God, and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for
ever. Amen.

9. GOOD AND GREAT SHEPHERD:

John 10:11-15
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and
leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Heb 13:20-21
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep,
through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight,
through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Eph 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the
church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
 Eph 4:15-16 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even
Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth,
according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying
of itself in love.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the
saviour of the body.

2 Cor 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath
blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of
God, should shine unto them.

15. HOLY AND TRUE:

Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that
is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

16. HOPE:
1 Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus
Christ, which is our hope;

17. EMMANUEL:
Matt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

18. REDEEMER:
Gal 4:4-5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made
under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Titus 2:13-14 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto
himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
 Mark 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life
a ransom for many.

19. SAVIOR:
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the
saviour of the body.

Titus 1:4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Titus 3:5-7 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through
Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of
eternal life.

Invitation: Hear, Believe, Repent, Confess Christ as the Son of God, Be Immersed
for the remission of sins, and then grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ,
remaining faithful until death.

offered with you and for you.
