Why WorldMUN? After hearing about the conference WorldMUN is very much a hidden gem at Harvard. Even
from many friends (at Harvard and in Spain, where I’m though I technically was not eligible to go as a freshman,
originally from!) I knew I had to find a way to The Hague I essentially indentured myself to the secretariat of
for WorldMUN 2009! I served as Assistant to the Business WorldMUN Puebla in exchange for the conference trip. I
Director at conference. Building relationships with members spent a good deal of my time playing translator and errand-
of the Harvard Team, Host Team and university delegations boy, but it was certainly worth it, WorldMUN has created
felt incredibly rewarding. many of my best memories
This year, I will be here at Harvard. My
chairing WorldMUN’s favorite part of WordMUN
first foreign language is opening ceremonies and
committee, a recreation seeing the thousands of
of Franco’s cabinet in delegates who have flown
1969 run completely in in from all parts of the
Spanish. I am excited for world to make WorldMUN a
the challenge, and I could reality. This year, I will direct
not think of a better way SPECPOL, and I can’t wait
to inaugurate my first to meet the delegates in my
directing experience! committee.
