Description & Operation

What is PortaCom?

BP-200 Belt Pack

PortaCom is a portable two-channel communication system

thats simple to set up and use. The main components include
a power console, belt packs and headsets. Station-to-station
connections are made using standard microphone cable with
3-pin XLR connectors.
The PC-100 power console has four outputs. The system can be
expanded and configured in numerous ways using the B3-100
branch boxes. A typical 6-headset system is shown below:

The BP-200 has a female 3-pin XLR input/line jack and a male
4-pin XLR headset jack, both on the bottom side (power is
supplied through the cable by the PC-100). The top has a
volume control (which adjusts the

individual headset listening level, not
the volume of the entire system), an
A/B channel switch, a mic mute switch

and a call light with switch for paging.

system (use it to alert users who may not

be wearing their headsets).
Set the belt packs mic switch to the on position to enable
mic
the headset microphone. Setting the switch to the
off position will short or mute the mic (but does
not affect the headset listening volume).
