God, Our
Father
Brother Mandus

The Father is a “normal” Father.

He is that which is simply
expressed, that which registers
in consciousness as something
we can understand.

A love which is applicable in everyday

consciousness, but which also bears the promise of
joys as yet too great to bear. I say this because
millions of people are seeking God today, and they
are seeking and feeling that they have not found
Him, because some ecstatic experience has not
come bursting into their lives. The ecstasy of which
the mystics speak is an extraordinary contact with
God, a promise of wonders to come, but it is not a
usual state. If a person experiences such an ecstasy
once in a lifetime, that is perhaps all he will attain.

For the rest of us, every day, hour by hour, at night

as we sleep, in our daily work, in our practical
everyday experiences, we shall find God to be
manifested in the midst of those experiences,
revealed to us in the state of our minds as we
3
approach each experience. He who walks with God
knows that He is there. He who seeks to live the
Christ-like way knows that all the power of Christ is
right there as a living presence, manifesting in giving
him strength, power and ability to lead a successful
everyday life. The sooner we lift up to accept that
constant Divine experience, the sooner we are
going to say; "Yes, my Lord, I have found you. I
am no longer seeking. I know that you are there.
My faith is as the faith of a little child, and I do
not question Thy presence. My assurance is the
longing in my soul to express my love in the
world."

The Divine prerogative given to the children of God

is that they shall be able to love even as the Father
loves all His creation, all His created beings, and
particularly all His children. He loves you and me,
even the most wicked amongst us; for is not the
Good Shepherd more likely to be concerned about
those who have lost the way, than about those who
are in peace and who have found the green
pastures? The Father is ever seeking to lift up those
who have stumbled; those who have become sick
and weary and lonely; those who are still immersed
in the depths of sin and error; those who do not as
yet truly understand their ignorance of the Divine
4
Laws that lead to freedom. When we become lifted
up out of ignorance into the Christ consciousness,
we must also accept the responsibility of being a
light in a world of darkness. For we shall give out
our love, and thus draw other people into the
freedom we enjoy, because freedom comes only
through the power of the Holy Spirit within. If we
have had good gifts from our Father, and since it is
His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom—all His
gifts of life and joy, success and creative ability—so
too He expects and knows we shall find our greatest
joy in giving our gifts to other people, and we can
only do that through love. Not necessarily through
things, but through our hearts, for that is where we
find God and experience Him; that is where we find
our personal freedom, and we enter the Kingdom of
God when we lose ourselves and give it all forth in
universal service.

As the children of God we are called by Him into

being, into individuality, into life, to fulfil the Divine
will. He knows the best way of life, He knows that
the perfect way unfold through love, for HE IS
LOVE. He knows that so long as we stumble along
consumed with self, not loving but doing the
opposite, we do not fulfil His will or express our own
true nature; and all His love is ever there to draw us
5
away from ignorance into the light of freedom. It can
only be experienced by the observance of His
Almighty laws, which are perfect, and which
represent the Truth of Life—a Truth which never
deviates and never diminishes, but which is always
steadfastly manifested, even as His Spirit in which
all people and worlds have their being. It is there to
be used. It is always present. Our task is to come
into harmony with His laws and to walk serenely in
the midst of the Almighty presence, free from the
contamination of self and ignorance.

YOUR DAY WITH THE FATHER

Monday 1st – Wednesday 3rd March

“While the Earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest,
and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and
day and night shall not cease.” - Gen. 8:22.

Thursday 4th – Saturday 6th March

There is no real age, for the spirit can never grow
old.

Sunday 7th – Wednesday 10th March

We are eternal beings, living in the spirit of God,
with a destiny which must unfold in endless cycles
of experience.

Thursday 11th – Saturday 13th March

Jesus himself revealed the eternal nature of
man, and promised the fullest expression of it in
following the divine way of love and faith.

Sunday 14th – Wednesday 17th March

We behold only God in everything. We no
longer shrink before the arthritis or colitis. Neither
cancer nor cardiac troubles are powers to fear.

8
Thursday 18th – Saturday 20th March
We are one with Christ in the Father, and look
beyond all these things to the holiness, the
wholeness, of His being in us.

Sunday 21st – Wednesday 24th March

We are established by love and faith in His spirit,
a presence, in the realm of perfection.

Thursday 25th – Saturday 27th March

Any wrong ever released must have its cause
and effect, until such time as love and faith in
prayer transmute the cause.

Sunday 28th –Wednesday 31st March

Jesus has proclaimed the infallible way to solve all
the problems of life on Earth.

Thursday 1st – Saturday 3rd April

A blessed and Happy Easter to you!

“Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth,

which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here:
behold the place where they laid him.” – Mark 16:6

9
Sunday 4th – Tuesday 6th April
It is the seed of love which is God within, and He
will bring forth the perfect life just as quickly as
we dare to launch out with a complete belief in
mighty works.

Wednesday 7th – Friday 9th April

We can only make real progress when we
recognise that God is love. Therefore He is never
remote or angry; no matter how grievously we
have sinned, or how ignorant we have been of
His laws.

Saturday 10th – Tuesday 13th April

The moment we come to God with love and faith,
His love is ours and all goodness is released to
us.

Wednesday 14th – Friday 16th April

The living truth is just what Jesus proclaimed.
"All that I have is thine!" "Lo, I am with you
always." "The Kingdom of God is within."

Saturday 17th – Tuesday 20th April

"If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to
yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing
shall be impossible unto you." – Jesus - Matthew
17:20
10
Wednesday 21st – Friday 23rd April
Jesus constantly invites us to be simple and
humble in our recognition that the Father doeth
the works, and that He will remove every
mountain of difficulty or disaster, if only we will
believe in the power which knows how to do it.

Saturday 24th – Tuesday 27th April

"Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God, and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be
added unto you!"

Wednesday 28th – Friday 30th April

Simplicity of love goes hand in hand with faith.
"What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye have received them and ye shall
have them!" "Ask anything in My name, and I will
do it!”

Saturday 1st – Tuesday 4th May

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on
Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater
works than these shall he do; because I go unto my
Father.” – Jesus - John 14:12.

Wednesday 5th – Saturday 8th May

All that is good in our lives and society stems from
our positive vision.
11
Sunday 9th – Tuesday 11th May
The supreme revelation of Jesus was that men
and women are the sons and daughters of God,
born to dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Wednesday 12th – Friday 14th May

Pains and problems always stem from our wrong
use of the power of mind. We project our own
discords, which manifest as troubles and
tragedies, disease and disaster.

Saturday 15th – Tuesday 18th May

Unless we understand and accept the truth that it
is our MINDS that create our experience, for good
or ill, we are like the master of a seaworthy ship
who never bothers to use the rudder to steer it to a
chosen destination.

Wednesday 19th – Friday 21st May

"When the student is ready, the master
appears." – Ancient Eastern saying.

Saturday 22nd – Tuesday 25th May

If we subscribe to the limitations of self and
environment, we slam the door to freedom in our
own faces. All things are possible to those who
believe in the possibility.

12
Wednesday 26th – Friday 28th May
What you decree, in full communion with God in
love and faith, will come forth into your experience.

Saturday 29th – Monday 31st May

When we recognise our real needs we are halfway
to their solution. The greatest problem of all is that
we are often unaware of the causes which produce
the troubles of the moment.

Tuesday 1st – Thursday 3rd June

We must at all times seek to harmonise spirit, mind
and body before effective solutions can be found.

Friday 4th – Sunday 6th June

Prayer is only successful when it embraces the
whole man; when, in fact, its aim is to release the
peace, harmony and love of God into every aspect
of soul, mind, body and circumstance.

Monday 7th – Wednesday 9th June

Our constant mission is to know the truth about our-
selves and our relationship with God and the
environment in which we live.

Thursday 10th – Saturday 12th June

There was never darkness without light. There is
always a sublime answer to every human need.

13
Sunday 13th – Tuesday 15th June
Be thankful for good deeds and your happy
fellowship with others. Count your many
blessings, from eternal life right down to the shelter
and food you have enjoyed today.

Wednesday 16th – Saturday 19th June

And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but
the greatest of these is LOVE.” - 1 Cor. 13.

Sunday 20th – Tuesday 22nd June

The spiritual life is essentially a growth of
awareness. It is not an isolated momentary
experience. If we have become sick in mind or
body, the need is to become re-established in
harmony with God's love.

Wednesday 23rd – Friday 25th June

Only God is good, only God is perfect. We all,
without exception, need healing of all kinds of
limitations and weaknesses. It is the divine plan
that we are enabled progressively to experience
more and more of the divine nature.

Saturday 26th – Wednesday 30th June

It is therefore imperative that we lift our vision to
behold the fullness of life and its infinite and infallible
possibilities in the life of God.

Winged Worship
Mac

God makes a green cathedral of the trees,

Its organ notes the cadence of the bees.
Each flower a chalice brimmed with Heav’nly joy,
And every bird a soaring choirboy.

Forth from the bushes whence the rose bestows

Its incense upon every wind that blows,
There steals upon the listening summer air
A silver symphony, a peerless prayer.

No angel carols that celestial note,

It echoes from a humble feathered throat.
So, midst the labours of the everyday.
Come ecstasies Divine to those who pray

Lord of the realm where miracles abound,

Make of tiny garden hallowed ground;
That I may pause to hear the whole day long.
Sweet thoughts of Thine made manifest in song.

Before You Call,
the Lord Answers
Brother Conrad

"The first man is of the earth,

earthy : the second man is
the Lord, from Heaven."
—1 Cor. 15 : 47.

ALL power to give birth to life and over all life, and to
create form and over all form, is the love power of
Christ which is released according to the will of the
Holy Spirit you really are. All is Spirit! In Eternity the
increase of Spirit is non-spatial but in the
dimensions of Spirit represented by the Universe
about us, we are able to see the increase of the
Spirit in the expanding changing form of everything.

This wondrous Universe of expansion unfolding its

mighty course through space and eons of time is
always reflecting the thinking of God. The change
that we see from one moment to the next means in
fact that we are always looking at a new part of the
Universe all the time. Always witnessing the course
of our Father's thinking.
23
Change is the fundamental characteristic of Spirit.
God is a thinker and He is not concerned with that
which He is but with that which He is becoming.
According to that which our Father is thinking so He
is. This same truth applies to the son and daughter
born of God to equally share the Holy Spirit; they
are as they think themselves to be. Our Father
though always changing through His thinking is
always love. The increase of the Spirit in no way
changes the nature of Spirit.

The following four revelations are given by the Lord

so that we know ourselves and express our true
selves. They are steps leading into unity with God.
Thought is the Spirit in action. You are in the place
or places you conceive yourself to be in and you are
as you think yourself to be. To the Spirit there is no
labour, therefore no limit to the speed with which
one thought may be succeeded by another or to the
number of thoughts held at the same time.

To think as Holy Spirit thinks we must rise to

absolute purity. Lack of purity is a brake applied to
thought, therefore in as many ways we know
ourselves to be impure, we are invited to choose the
alternative of being perfect with God.

24
The second revelation concerns communication
through thought, and the understanding of one
another’s thoughts. As Spirit all thought is
understood because all thought is the expression of
the Spirit.

The third revelation concerns our need to think of

ourselves as Spirit in the most comprehensive way,
not to confine ourselves to being only the bodies we
use. When we do so we impose very extensive
limitations upon ourselves, upon the Spirit which we
are. All things are achieved through the love power
of the Spirit. It would be miraculous if a clockwork
doll designed only to dance, suddenly, when wound
down, began to talk. Much more astonishing than
this are the feats of the Spirit in relation to the body.
Yet the simplest action of the body is caused by the
Spirit and is equal to the greatest expression of the
Spirit, to the most profound and extensive feat of
love.

The fourth revelation invites us not to postpone

being our true selves. If all the gifts of the Spirit were
set out before you and you were invited to choose
one special gift, you would in truth have an
impossible task for they are each your very own
already. We are to lift our vision to understand that
25
which we already have being the sons and
daughters of God. When, being aware of our true
nature and unity with our Lord Jesus Christ, we
receive His love without opposition, then we are
Spirit, ONE with Him and with our family in God from
Earth to Heaven. In meditation, in Eternity, the
perfect work of the Holy Spirit is done for all whom
we hold in the Sanctuary of our heart and for all who
will come into our lives until our next meditation.

Your Life - Time Well Spent
Dr. Timothy O’Higgins

How are you experiencing your life to day? Are you

counting the cost or counting the blessings of your
life? Those who focus on enjoying the present, tend
to be free-spirited. However their lives may lack a
sense of purpose or direction. Typically, they spend
little time evaluating the potential consequences of
their behaviour. They may have difficulty sustaining
commitment and motivation and therefore tend not
to fulfil their potential in life. They also tend to be
somewhat irresponsible in areas related to self-care
and preventative medical responsibility to
preventative medical attention. They are susceptible
to engage in drug and alcohol abuse and to
participate in other forms of irresponsible or risky
behaviour. (Always remember you are not your
experiences. You have experiences but you are
truly the image and likeness of God).

I have met several very wealthy individuals, who

despite their financial abundance, continued to work
into their late seventies and eighties. One such man,
despite suffering constant wrist pain, was at his
computer six hours a day, trading in the stock
27
market. Micro-monitoring the changes in the
financial market, he was incapable of enjoying the
sacred moments of the present. How are you
investing in your present?

Those with a present-fatalistic perspective, see no

relationship between their present effortful
behaviour and their future. They rely on chance or
fate than effort and spiritual guidance, to change
their quality of life. Seeing themselves as victims of
life, they are immobilised by their life circumstances.
Unused, their talents are wasted. Their lack of effort
produces more inertia, their negativity more misery.
Even when successful at work, they do not enjoy
their success, attributing it to others rather than to
their own effort. Evaluating and judging things with
an attitude of ingratitude, they cannot give thanks for
what they have. Cursing the darkness of their own
understanding, they perpetuate the heaviness of
their own experience. Not using the power that they
have, they perceive themselves as impotent. Not
experiencing joy in their present life situation, they
lack motivation to invest in their future. They seek to
avoid risk and perceive every challenge as a
problem. They spend their time talking about their
problems rather than problem-solving.

28
In our experience of life, a balance can be
maintained between self-serving hedonism and a
fatalistic attitude rooted in a perception of self as a
grovelling sinner totally at the mercy of God. Such a
balanced is achieved in what is called ‘present
holism’, where one is fully present to the moment, in
appreciation for what is presented to one in their
relationships, challenges and experiences. Do you
think that it is possible for the Omniscience who
sustains the universe to make a mistake in providing
us with precisely that experiential learning we need
for our spiritual development?
“Every good and perfect gift is from above and
comes down from the Father of lights, with
whom there is no variableness nor shadow of
change, it is He who begot us of his own will
with the word of truth, that we should be the first
fruits of his creatures.” - James I, 17-18
In the experience of the Now, we must endeavour
to:
• Give thanks in everything, thereby allowing
the Inner Essence to unfold within our
perception of our present experiences.
• Keep our eyes on the Light, the Essential
within the existential.

29
• Resist not evil, do not fight the apparent
darkness of our circumstances and
experiences but to turn to the inner Light.
• Unhook from the past and thereby cease the
lamentations concerning perceived wrongs
by which our emotional wounds have been
re-evoked and reinforced.
• Live the Beatitudes, the attitudes of being,
outlined in the Sermon on the Mount.

I Am One of Them
Brother Roy

Just before the Christmas holidays I fell very ill with

a ‘flu virus and had to take some time off from the
Sanctuary and all the celebrations that I had
planned over the following weeks were cancelled.
During that time I read to take my mind off the
illness and came upon an article about the Hawaiian
island of Molokai.

Hardly anywhere in the world is there a lovelier spot

than Molokai, the Pacific island is always bathed in
sunshine, always fanned by soft and sweet airs. Yet
this was once one of the world’s saddest places. A
place where hope, had been abandoned. Where
one’s suffering was intense, and loneliness was
almost unbearable. For Molokai was the island to
which lepers were sent to linger unloved until death
brought release. But the wretchedness of its exiles
came to the ears of Joseph de Veuster, a Belgian
born at Tremeloo near Louvain. Becoming a monk
at eighteen, he took the now famous and honoured
name of Father Damien. Of his own free will he
turned his back on home and kindred, sailed for
Molokai and became a father of the people.

31
He was one with them in their distresses. He loved
those whom all men loathed. He served the outcasts
day and night, ministered to their souls, and did
what he could for their bodies. After some years his
glorious act of sacrifice won worldwide recognition,
and a medical station was established so that
Father Damien could give at least some treatment
and ease pain a little. The kind of life Father Damien
lived would have been altogether impossible had he
not loved, and loved passionately the people he
cared for. There came a day which many regarded
as tragic – the day when Father Damien accidentally
overturned a kettle of boiling water. To his
astonishment he discovered that although his arm
was scalded it did not hurt. He told a medical
missionary what had happened, and the missionary
looked Father Damien steadily in the eyes but
remained silent. “Well?” asked the hero and saint of
Molokai. “Am I a leper?” “You are,” was the reply.
Many a man would have been stunned, but Father
Damien smiled. “Ah,” said he, “now I am not only
with them, I am one of them!” In my humble way I
understood what Father Damien meant; during the
height of my illness I actually thanked the Lord and
said, “Now I am not only with them, I am one of
them!”

32
God is The Healer!
Brother Andrew
I believe in the wholeness of an individual; people
are integrated beings with bodies; minds, souls and
circumstances. There is absolutely no point in
dealing with any problems in isolation. It is vital that
we get to the root cause of the problem, be it
spiritual; mental, physical of circumstantial.
I am a very ordinary person and I do not feel that I
am particularly special, or have any ‘divine healing
powers.’ Of course I have God given talents as we
all have and I have nurtured those gifts. However,
where healing is concerned I am merely acting as a
channel of God’s healing love, and nothing more. It
is out of a sense of service to God and my fellows
on Earth that I seek to assist all that come into my
midst. That might be by letter, telephone call, email,
face to face or any number of ways. I always believe
that the right people come at the right time to
receive healing.
There are many things that we can do to aid and
assist the healing process. The first thing I do is to
welcome people and make them feel comfortable
whilst in our midst. The surroundings help as well,
neutral colours, comfortable seating and tranquil
33
music all help. Refreshments are also very
important. Many people travel great distances to see
me, and what could be better than a good cup of tea
and a tasty biscuit on offer when they arrive? After a
firm handshake and cheery greeting, there tends to
be a period of general conversation, which leads on
to the purpose of the visit.
I think it is important for me to be a good listener,
and I only respond occasionally to show that I am
being attentive. I maintain eye contact throughout
the discussion because it helps me to register with
that person, or persons. When the matter has been
discussed, is the time that we can pray for the
issues that have been raised. Quiet intercession
helps people to share their needs with God. Often
whilst praying I will lay hands upon an individual so
that there is a direct, physical contact between us.
When someone is healed, what better way is there
than to share a testimony to answered prayer? A
way of saying, ‘Thank You’ to God for the blessing
of wellbeing. Not only that, the testimony will bless
others and renew their faith! We receive many
thousands of testimonies every year from Crusaders
who have been touched by God’s healing spirit. It is
as though they are re-awakened in flesh and spirit.
They are made new!
