API 4F & 4G Qualified Drilling Structures Inspection

Believe it or not, you will not have seen the above mentioned statement in our Industry
before, why? Because until DSL created the qualification, there was none. Hard to
imagine when you consider the loads that a drilling structure incurs on a day to day
basis, and the fact that so many people work underneath them, 24/7.
This course and qualification, in accordance with API 4G & 8B, has been endorsed by
API through our API & IADC Approved Training Academy, thus enabling us to provide
qualified Inspectors to inspect and verify the integrity of your derrick/drilling structure
for its Category III & IV Inspections.
DSL are licenced holders of API 4F & 8C for Drilling Structures & Hoisting Systems
demonstrates our qualification as a Drilling Structures Specialist, which in turn enables
us to provide qualified solutions to any issues that our Engineers may from time to time
discover during inspections.
Completing the total integrity of this service is our competency management system
which is approved by OPITO, and if your structure needs rectification, our Derrick
Technicians/Builders are also qualified to our API Derrick Technicians course and
qualification.

Derrick Inspection Training for Drill Crew

DSL provides training for Drill Crew to carry out Category I & II Inspections in
accordance with API 4G. This training course provides your personnel with the ability
to conduct rig up and day to day inspections of drilling structures. The course teaches
personnel what to look for after rig up of a mast and substructure after a rig move, and
the type of issues to check for on a day to day basis such as:

Inspection of Bolted and Pinned Connections

Advanced Corrosion

Sheave Inspection

This inspection can be carried out by our Inspectors when onsite or at your office

RigCentral - Inspections Database Software

Many MODUs have struggled with the central storage of various equipment certification
documents, inspection reports and rig assets. Customized Excel data bases and spread
sheets make up the majority of tools for storing records on-board at present, none of
which provides both operational and maintenance management with the transparency of
this information at their fingertips, both onshore and offshore.
DSL has introduced its RigCentral data base into the Industry to eliminate this problem once
and for all, eradicating the time wasted in finding and checking reports and certification,
along with giving you notification of when current certification is due to expire. RigCentral
is built with flexibility in mind, the system utilises the latest Microsoft technologies and
can be used as both an inspection system and a complete asset management system. It is
an adaptable database and includes unique tools for analysis, summary and presentation.
