1. Waterdemand
Thecampisconsideredfor60persons(residents)plus6persons(nonresidents),totalamount
waterperdaywillbecalculatedthroughspecification(UFC323003A)asfollows:
Effectivepopulation=residentspopulation(6)+1/3nonresidentpopulation(6)=62persons
Capacityfactor=1.5forpopulation<5000persons(table3.1ufc323003A)
Designpopulation=effectivepopulation(62)xcapacityfactor(1.5)=93persons
Waterallowance=50gal/capita/day(table21,UFC323003A)
Waterdemandperday=designpopulation(93)xwaterallowance(50gal/day)=4,650gal/day
2. Wateravailabilityevaluation
Shindand district center is located at the north of Shindand River which is potential source of
surfacewaterforirrigation.Thelocalhousesare
equipped with a shallow well supplying the
communitieswaterdemand.Theaveragesurface
of underground water is less than 10 meters
depth.
There are three buildings at vicinities at west,
north and south sides of project site within 300
diameters (from center of the construction site)
which have drilledwells. The preliminary
inspection shows that there is potential resource
of underground water at the area. These
preliminarystudiesevidencethattheconstruction
sitewillhaveapotentialresourceofunderground
water.

3. Determinationofthepotentialwellatthesite
We considered to drill two testwells at the site,
the location of first testwell is at the southeast
corner , and second is located at the north west
corner. The first assigned location is far enough
from the pollution sources (table 52, UFC3230
03A).However;ifthefirstlocationfails,andsecond
location fulfill the requirements, the site plan
should be revised, pollution sources (septic and
leachfield)shouldbeplacedtoalocationtomeet
the requirements mentioned in table 52 of the
abovementionedspecification.
