This week we are learning:
Circle Time Review
This week in circle time we will
continue to review the days of the
week, months of the year, and the
weather. We will also continue to
practice introducing ourselves to the
class and asking each other
questions in English using complete
sentences. We will also go over all of
the vocabulary for the current unit
that we began last week, thai food.
The students will play games to help
develop their skills and we will
practice telling each other what we
like to eat and drink with an emphasis
on using complete sentences as well
as correct grammar and verb tenses.
Review
Phonics

This week we will complete unit 8 in

Oxford Phonics World book 2: 'ut' words
nut, hut, cut; 'ub' words cub, tub; 'um'
words gum, hum; 'un' words bun, run,
fun. We will also complete review section
4. before the students progress onto the
review, I will check carefully that they
understand and can apply all the key skills
to all of the words from unit 8. They should
be able to identify the word confidently,
write it from listening to the sound, match it
with the correct image and pronounce it
clearly. In the review section the students
will go back over all of the short 'u' words
they have studied in units 7 and 8, and
differentiate between the different
beginning and end sounds. Since the
students will now have completed all of the
vocabulary in the book, I will use general
games like Lucky Dip and Bingo to check
that they can remember them all. We will
also focus on reviewing the sight words for
unit 5, and reading the story.
