EUFIX EP-JF

Chemically resistant joint mortar from hardened resins

DESRIPTION AND USE
Joint mortar EUFIX EP-JF is a mixture of brown-black
furalaldol resin and fine powder filling with hardening
catalyst.
EUFIX EP-JF is a mortar from hardened resins designed
for jointing and bonding of chemically resistant linings,
ceramic tiles, paving and tiles from fused basalt.
It is used in chemical and industrial plants, where high
chemical and mechanical resistance are required.

ADVANTAGES
Excellent resistance to many acids, lye, oils and other
chemicals
Excellent mechanical ruggedness
Jointing and bonding of ceramic, stone, basalt, carbon
and similar tiles for chemically resistant lining
Simple application

INSTRUCTIONS AND DATA FOR USE

Substrate preparation
Jointing should be done only when the adhesive hardens
(after the time period given in relevant technical
specifications). The joints need to be thoroughly cleaned,
free of dust and empty in at least 2/3 of the tile thickness.
Remove the excessive adhesive or cement prior to
bonding. The joint must be dry, without dust and grease.
Roughen glazed surfaces by rubbing (carborundum).
Width of joints should be between 5 and 10 mm.
Mixture preparation
Add ingredient A the weighed resin (1 weight share) - to
the weighed dry filling - ingredient B (3 weight shares) and
mix well. Always mix volume of jointing mortar than can
be used up within 40 minutes in temperature of +20 C.
The time period needed for hardening shortens in higher
temperatures and gets longer in temperatures below
+15 C.
If you need to modify consistency of the mixture, it is
possible to add more of the ingredient A, but you have to
count with the time needed for complete hardening to be
longer.
Ingredient A resin always contains certain amount of
separated water, which needs to be disposed of prior to
work.
Application
Apply mixed joint mortar to the joint diagonally using a
rubber spatula.
Hardening will take 24 hours at 20 C. Process of
hardening will be complete in a matter of 4 to 7 days
depending on ambient temperature.
Joint mortar reaches its full chemical resistance after 28
days.
Cleaning
Remove mortar EUFIX EP-JF from the tools immediately
after work using acetone before it hardens. Hardened
material can be removed mechanically only.

CAUTION
EUFIX EP-JF may not be used when the temperature of
the air or the substrate drops below +5C and keeps on
falling (hardening of the mortar stops completely).
