Subject: Celeb neocon du jour Ben Carson on guns, Zimmerman, ordering folks around, amnesty, etc.

In his own doubletalk. Anointed celebrity neo"con" du jour Dr. Ben Carson on guns,
Zimmerman, ordering folks around, immigration, invasion, "rule of law", amnesty, "guest
workers", "back of the line", etc.
--------Should people be allowed to own semi-automatic weapons, Dr. Carson?
It depends on where you live. I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I m afraid
that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather
you not have it. "[If you live] out in the country somewhere by yourself, I ve no problem with
that.
-Dr. Ben Carson, March 2013, Glen Beck Show; quoted in "Dr. Ben Carson Cannot be Trusted on
Guns", by Kurt Hoffman
---------George Zimmerman happened to have a gun and it ended up in a tragedy. I m thinking there
must be something we could learn from this situation in addition to not creating a big racial
divide." [Paraphrased:] "This may have been avoided if Zimmerman had been carrying a taser
instead of a gun. This was a third degree murder case and not a second degree case and if
Zimmerman had been properly charged, he probably would ve done a few years behind bars
and people wouldn't have been outraged."
-Dr. Ben Carson, Sean Hannity Show, 7-17-2013.
Later, Carson schmoozes the gun rights community, but still doesn't get it:
"On the other side of the argument, there are reasonable people who look at the tens of
thousands of people who are killed each year in this country by guns, and they do not feel that
we are doing enough to stop the carnage...and most reasonable people certainly are not in
favor of allowing criminals and mentally unstable individuals to purchase firearms. ...[T]he
number of individuals killed by guns in America is far less than the number killed by
automobiles, yet the government does not tell people they can only buy approved types of
automobiles with a limited horsepower at least not yet. We do, however, require that anyone
driving a car on the streets of our nation have a license to do so, indicating the successful
completion of adequate training. We do not grant licenses to certain categories of individuals
who would be deemed unsafe drivers. This is done for the safety of the public at large. Perhaps
instead of getting into our corners and screaming at each other, it is time to engage in
intelligent conversation about our desire to preserve the rights granted to American citizens by

our Constitution while at the same time ensuring the safety of all of our citizens."
-Dr. Ben Carson, "Why did the Founders give us the Second Amendment", Washington Times,
12-10-2013
Six months later, at the peak of anti-gun hysteria a few days after Elliot Rodger killed six people
in Santa Barbara, Carson reverts to instinct, questions whether the right to bear arms should
include assault weapons:
I think there s some weapons that probably are not appropriate, like tanks. And I m not sure
that people should have a rocket-launcher in their bedroom. But conventional weapons, I
don t have any problem with. What I have said, which some people have misinterpreted, is
that in places where there s a lot of crime with assault weapons that keeping the Second
Amendment on the table and always protecting it, we should be able to engage in
conversations about it. What can we agree on that doesn't violate the Second Amendment but
that provides some degree of protection for our citizens. Unless we can talk about these kinds
of things we will never succeed with these kinds of things.
-Dr. Ben Carson, National Press Club speech, 5-24-2014
---------Dr. Ben Carson speaks for and against politicians forcing their will on the people:
"It might be a good idea to point out to such people that a few decades ago, there were few
who believed that we would reach a state in which our leaders would decide that they know
best what the people need, and that this justifies forceful imposition of their will upon the
people."
-Dr. Ben Carson, "Why did the founders give us the Second Amendment", Washington Times,
12-10-2013
Two years later, Carson himself serves as an example of politicians forcing their will on
individuals. No excuses. Get vaccinated or go to jail:
"Although I strongly believe in individual rights and the rights of parents to raise their children
as they see fit, I also recognize that public health and public safety are extremely important in
our society. Certain communicable diseases have been largely eradicated by immunization
policies in this country and we should not allow those diseases to return by foregoing safe
immunization programs, for philosophical, religious, or other reasons when we have the means
to eradicate them."
-Dr. Ben Carson, press release, 2-2-2015; see "Ben Carson: No One Has Right to Refuse
Mandatory Vaccinations", Newsmax.
"Doctor's Orders!" But don't tell Dr. Ben Carson what to do:
"Ben Carson Used Aborted Fetal Tissue in Research, No Apologies"

By Wills Robinson, JoeMiller [dot] us, 8-15-2015: Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson
has defended using aborted fetuses for medical research even though he has slammed
Planned Parenthood for a similar practice. The neurosurgeon conducted research in 1992 using
two fetuses aborted in the ninth and 17th week of gestation, but insists it does contradict his
pro-life stance.
"There is absolutely no contradiction between the research I worked on in 1992 and my pro-life
views."
-Dr. Ben Carson, 8-13-2015
---------Immigration, from both sides of Ben Carson's mouth:
Immoral to "take advantage" of "cheap labor" from illegals while denying them citizenship:
"Is it moral for us ... to take advantage of cheap labor from illegal immigrants while denying
them citizenship? I'm sure you can tell from the way I phrased the question that I believe we
have taken the moral low road on this issue. I believe we have taken the moral low road on this
issue. Some segments of our economy would virtually collapse without these undocumented
workers - we all know that - yet we continue to harass and deport many individuals who are
simply seeking a better life for themselves and their families. Is there a way to apply logic to this
issue and arrive at an intelligent solution?"
-Dr. Ben Carson, "America the Beautiful", 2012, p.102
---------Wants "Guest" Worker / Amnesty Program and pathway to citizenship for invader-occupiers:
"A national guest-worker program makes sense and seems to work well in Canada. Noncitizens
would have to apply for a guest-worker permit and have a guaranteed job awaiting them. ...
special visas would allow for easy entry and egress across borders. ... People already here
illegally could apply for guest-worker status from outside of the country. This means they would
have to leave first. They should in no way be rewarded for having broken our laws, but if they
are wise, they will arrange with their employer before they leave to immediately offer them a
legal job as soon as their application is received. When they return, they still would not be U.S.
citizens, but they would be legal, and they would be paying taxes. Only jobs that are vacant as a
result of a lack of interest by American citizens should be eligible for the guest-worker
program."
-Dr. Ben Carson, 6-17-2015, Washington Times. [It's amnesty, virtually guaranteed "guest
worker" status, but it's not a reward! WOW! He must be a brain surgeon, he's so smart.]
---------More "Guest" Worker / Amnesty doubletalk. Americans who want to deport invaders have no

idea what they're talking about!

Well, you know, I have heard people say, Yeah, round them all up and send them back. They
have no idea what they're talking about and how much that costs and how impractical that is.
And many of these people don't know any other places, this is the only place they've been. So
where are you going to send them back to in that situation? What I would do instead is let them
register and become guest workers, they have to back tax penalty, and they have to pay taxes
going forward. It does not give them voting rights, it does not make them a citizen, and if they
want citizenship, they get in the back of the line and go through the same process as everybody
else, because we cannot neglect the people who have done it the right way.
-Dr. Ben Carson, 8-2-2015 Meet The Press Interview. [Leave and come right back in as a "guest
worker". That's not neglecting people who didn't invade our country! And did you know that
the "back of the immigration-citizenship line" is actually INSIDE THE USA? Genius! He MUST be
a brain surgeon!]
[Chuck Todd replies: "People will call that amnesty."]
"They can call it whatever they want to, but we also have to be pragmatic."
-Dr. Ben Carson, 8-2-2015 Meet The Press Interview
---------More Amnesty and "Guest Worker" rewards for invaders:
"And as a guest worker, you can certainly apply for citizenship, but you have to go through the
same process as everyone else. There are many Latinos who are American citizens and have
done it the right way, and they re of equal value with everybody else, so we shouldn t just toss
them to the curb. And they re many who feel that way."
-Dr. Ben Carson, 6-17-2015 speech to the National Association of Latino Elected Officials.
[Same process as everyone who did it the right way: Invade, occupy, return home for one day,
re-enter, and apply for citizenship "at the back of the line". No reward there!]
---------More Amnesty and "Guest" Worker rewards for invader-occupiers:
"Give them an opportunity to become guest workers so they can at least come out of the
shadows."
-Dr. Ben Carson, 6-30-2015, forum in Baltimore, Md.
---------More doublespeak: "Jobs Americans won't do" vs "rule of law".
"I do recognize that there are many jobs in this country that Americans don't want to do, and
that if we didn't have some others to do them, it could wreak havoc on some segments of our
society. I do understand that. But I still believe in the rule of law." [That's why he supports

amnesty and citizenship for invaders! To enforce the rule of law!]

-Dr. Ben Carson, 6-4-2014 NewsMax Interview.
---------"We have plenty of space in our country" ... "We need a continual flow of immigrants"
"We have all heard it said many times that America is a land of immigrants some voluntary
and some involuntary, but immigrants nevertheless. We have plenty of space in our country,
but insufficient resources to support everyone who wants to come here...."
"A national guest-worker program makes sense and seems to work well in Canada. Non-citizens
would have to apply for a guest-worker permit and have a guaranteed job awaiting them. Taxes
would be paid at a rate commensurate with other U.S. workers, and special visas would allow
for easy entry and egress across borders. Guest-worker status would be granted to individuals
and not to groups. People already here illegally could apply for guest-worker status from
outside of the country. This means they would have to leave first. They should in no way be
rewarded for having broken our laws, but if they are wise, they will arrange with their employer
before they leave to immediately offer them a legal job as soon as their application is received.
When they return, they still would not be U.S. citizens, but they would be legal..." [NO REWARD
THERE!]
"As long as we reward people who break laws [like, say, via Carson's plan to give them
AMNESTY and a "guest worker" program with the right to apply for citizenship], they will
continue to break laws. We do need a continual flow of immigrants, but choosers need not be
beggars. We make decisions based on our needs. People who refuse to comply with the rules
must forfeit chances of legalization in the future. Anyone caught involved in voter fraud should
be immediately deported and have his citizenship revoked. The point is this: We must create a
system that disincentivizes illegal immigration and upholds the rule of law while providing us
with a steady stream of immigrants from other nations who will strengthen our society. Let s
solve the problem and stop playing political football."
-Dr. Ben Carson, "My Prescription for Immigration Reform", 11-12-2014, National Review
------------Hysterical neo"con" exaggeration on behalf of the Military Industrial Complex:
"Our Navy is at it's smallest size since 1917, our Air Force since 1940."
-Dr. Ben Carson, 8-6-2015 Presidential debate.
Astonishingly ridiculous to compare the U.S. Navy of 100 years ago to the extreme high-tech,
nuclear-armed and nuclear-powered U.S. Navy of 2015 - which now has its *own* air force, 10
aircraft carriers in service (10 times more than China or Russia) and 3 under construction. Same

story for the Air Force.

========
Before anointing another flavor of the week neo"con" celebrity doubletalker because he has
the "correct" skin color (remember "conservative Republican" Gen. Colin Powell? At least he
was a credible executive), shouldn't we examine what comes out of both sides of his mouth?

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect
each of them against Invasion
Article IV, Section 4, U.S. Constitution
No State shall ... keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another
State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not
admit of delay.
Article I, Section 10, U.S. Constitution
*

'O wretched countrymen! what fury reigns?

What more than madness has possessed your brains?
Trust not their presents, nor admit the horse.'
Thus having said, against the steed he threw
His forceful spear, which, hissing as it flew,
Pierced yielding planks of jointed wood,
And trembling in the hollow belly stood.
The sides, transpierced, return a rattling sound,
And groans of Greeks inclosed come issuing through the wound
And, had not Heaven the fall of Troy designed,
Or had not men been fated to be blind...
And Ilian towers and Priam's empire stood...
Four times it stalled at the gate, as oft the clashing sound
Of arms was heard, and inward groans rebound.
Yet, mad with zeal, and blinded with our fate,
We haul along the horse in solemn state;
Then place the dire portent within the tower.
Cassandra cried, and cursed the unhappy hour;
Foretold our fate; but, by the god's decree,
All heard, and none believed the prophecy.
