WHAT DOES GOD FEEL LIKE TO YOU
Back in 1963 when my family first came into the Church of God, the thing that
sticks out in my mind is the spirituality of the services. There was no such thing
as a quiet service. We prayed loud. We sang loud. The preacher was loud. And
yet, its not the volume of the services that got my attention, it was the moving
of the Holy Spirit. When God began to move, He had my attention.
One thing I remember with great fondness is the prayer lines. That was
where there would be two lines of saints facing each other, and anyone who
had a need would go through this gauntlet of praying people.
During one of these services, my mother could not find me or my brother.
Thinking we were somewhere in the sanctuary, she scanned the crowd. As she
looked towards the line of people waiting to go through the prayer line, she
noticed a gap. Thats right; we were in the prayer line at ages four and six.
When mama asked what we were doing in line, my brother answered,
Mama, it feels like cool water running all over me. If a four year old can sense
the presence and power of God, so should we. All it takes is child-like faith, and
a willingness to get under the spout where the glory comes out. I wonder how
God will feel to you, when you do.

begun a study of Revelation on Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. Brenda Stimmell is

Childrens Church!

tonight at 7:00 p.m. You bring what your family wants
to eat along with your eating utensils, blankets, lawn

Pastor Nolan will be teaching a class for new converts

starting Tuesday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the
upstairs classroom. If you recently gave your heart to
the Lord or just want to know more about the Christian
experience, you are welcome to come to this class.

This is a commitment to pray 30

minutes a day during the month of
September. We know it is already
six days into September but you
can start today to pray 30 minutes a
day. This can be all at one time or
15 minutes at morning and 15 at
night. There is a commitment signup sheet in the foyer. There is also
a list of things that Pastor Nolan
ask us to pray about. Sign the

today and pick up the list of things
to focus on when you pray.
