Greenfield FTTx
Service providers often choose FTTx for a greenfield
development since initial construction costs are
in parity with copper, but allow for much greater
bandwidth capabilities over traditional copper
deployments. The increasing demand for subscriber bandwidth makes FTTx a great alternative,
and some developers often choose fiber to differentiate their properties.

Business Services over FTTx

Large enterprise business customers increasingly
need fiber for their high-traffic data connections.
Active Ethernet provides up to 1 Gbps in bandwidth
as a point-to-point Transparent LAN Service (TLS).
As each fiber is dedicated, there is complete security
for sensitive business communications.

Brownfield FTTx Migration

Many operators find themselves burdened with
aged copper plant with rising operations, administration and maintenance costs and limited broadband service capability. The MXK platform
allows selective overbuild and replacement with
FTTx as desired, via slot-by-slot replacement of
copper line cards.

Residential Triple Play Video Services

Triple Play is often the trigger for FTTH, where
services demand higher bandwidth and the business
strategy requires new revenues. The MXK has
integrated IPTV features that enable scalable triple
play operations to better control installation costs,
and Zhones 4200 family of zNID ONTs have
integrated HPNA over existing coax or phone line
to deliver IPTV and IP Triple Play services around
the home without having to install new wires.
HPNA is supported on both GPON and Active
Ethernet versions of the zNID.

and compact and use an AC/DC power supply

4200 Series zNID Home Gateway ONT

The 4200 zNID is the most complete ONT available

for integrated delivery, distribution, and management
of Triple Play services over FTTx.

Integrated HPNA
zNID 4200 delivers 100 Mbps Ethernet using HPNA
over both existing home coax or phone lines, offering
optimum flexibility for connecting PCs and TVs in
the homewith no new wiring!

Power with Phone Wire

zNID 4200 uses a special power adaptor to allow a
spare phone line in the home to deliver low-voltage
power in lieu of drilling holes and installing a heavy
power cable.

Complete Management
The zNID can be easily auto-configured, activated
and managed remotely from an Automatic Configuration Server using the DSL Forums TR-069 protocol. It can also be managed remotely in several
waysby the ZMS using SNMP, by CLI via a
Telnet connection, or though the web interface
using HTTP.

Designed for Easy Installation

zNID 4200 has separate fiber and electronics trays
that enable installation to be done a step at a time,
as construction and service turn up actually occur.

RF over Glass (RFOG) Solutions

RFoG is a technology that offers multiple benefits to service providers with their FTTx deployments. A network solution to deliver RF-based services on a fiber network, RFoG allows service
providers to optimize network bandwidth by enabling the separation of video from data and voice
services, and increasing the amount of spectrum available for more services. Zhone offers a
