Synopsis
A Ballad is a story about love, set in
the post-apocalyptic Bosnia-Herzegovina where myths and reality
intertwine. Mythical couple, Fatima
Pintorovic and Hasan Arapovic are
divorcing under strange circumstances and because of the reasons that
are unclear. The divorce will lead one
of them to death and leave their five
children as orphans. Suada, Kata,
Goga, Seka, Munira, Samira, Lily,
Nizama, Sajda and Zora live in todays post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina.
As they attempt to discover the real
reason behind Fatimas and Hasans
divorce they share with us the moving
stories of their own lives. The interweaving of real and invented characters and events leads us to many
questions about the mystery of love.
By confronting their brutal reality with
the poetic idea of falling and being
in love and breakup, our heroines are
proving that love is possible even in in
the times of apocalypse.

Synopsis
Fikret, a television entertainment
celebrity, gets a SMS message during
the live TV show that a new witness
appeared who has some information
about his father. He takes a car to
drive to Srebrenica to meet a witness.
A female television producer joins
him. They travel during the night and
the story of a loss, memory and geno-

cide unfolds. The script is based on a

memoir book by Fikret Hodzic, a young
man who was 10 years old when
Srebrenica fell. His father was killed
in the woods together with other men
from their village and hes never found
the bones of his father. More than
1000 remains of the men from Srebrenica were not yet found even 20
years after the genocide. Add to this
7000 of victims from other parts of
Bosnia also still not found. This film
is about today. The horrible past still
lives in our present. The subject is
grave but the movie is very reflective
and it will not be one of those movies
impossible to watch. There is a special Bosnian unbearable lightness
of transcending the tragedy in this
movie.

Synopsis

and four kilometres from the nearest
road, the three brothers hold down the
fort in the womanless village of Zabre.

tough conditions. No running water,
no roads, not even a hint of a womans
touch. But what happens when the
eldest brother Zoran brings a young
woman to live in a womanless village
and his two younger brothers start to
be very jealous?
