1. What is a theory
Theory is a formulation of fundamental principles of certain observed phenomena
which have been verified to some degree.

Theoretical framework of a study is the structure that can hold or support the
theory of a research work (Leveriza, 1997). This framework presents the theory
which explains why the problem under study exist.
Thus, the theoretical framework is but a theory that serves as a basis for
conducting the study.
3 reasons why should a researcher formulate his theoretical framework:

It helps the researcher see clearly the variables of the study

It provides the researcher a general framework for data collection and
analysis
It is essential in preparing a research proposal using descriptive and
experimental research methods

Theoretical framework can be presented by:

Specifying the theory used or to be used as a basis for the study

Mentioning the proponent of theory
Citing the main points emphasized in the theory
Supporting the researchers exposition of the theory by ideas from other
expert

Theory is a formulation of fundamental principles of certain observed phenomena

which have been verified to some degree
Principles is a fundamental truth, law, or doctrine
Theoretical, which s used as an objective, is the statement of which the research
will substantiate.
Framework is a structure o held together or support something. Thus, theoretical
framework of a research undertaking is a structure to hold together or support a
theory of the research.
Theoretical framework shapes the justification of the research problem or
research objectives in order to provide the legal basis for defining its parameters.
Identify key concepts that are used in the study for better understanding of the
role of theory in research.
Theoretical framework is symbolic construction which uses abstract concepts,
facts, laws, variables and their relations that explains and predicts how an
observed phenomenon exists and operated.
Theories are useful devise for interpreting, criticizing, and unifying established
scientific and facts that guide in discovering new generalization.
