Coats, outer garments:


Best:
Regimental Coat- brown faced red, made to company pattern, from Kochan
broadcloth, Childs brown Kersey, or other wool pending approval.
Acceptable:
Hunting shirt- Split front hunting shirt of tow cloth
Sleeved waistcoat- (worn underneath hunting shirt)
Unacceptable:
Other Regimental coats, pullover hunting shirts, smocks, frocks, civilian coats.

Waistcoats:
Best:
Plain cloth waistcoat, with or without sleeves, round cut or with skirts made of
white, brown, mixed, light or striped colored wool or linen.
Unacceptable:
Non-Period Fabrics of styles

Legwear:.
Best:
Overalls. Linen, Tow cloth, fulled or plain wool, kersey or flannel. White,
natural, red, blue, striped, or checked.
Acceptable:
Plain cloth breeches. Brown or light coloured best. (at least 2 pair of breeches
should be represented in the company)
Leather breeches
Trousers of duffel or linen
Unacceptable:
Linen breeches, which there is not documentation for, and would be cold anyway.

Hats:
Best:
Black felt hat. Round or cocked, perhaps trimmed with yellow tincey lace.
Accceptable:
Knit cap of period style in lieu of a felt hat only if you have no felt hat.
Unacceptable:
Leather or felt caps,

Shirts:
Best:
Shirt cut to period style. Tow cloth, or other coarse linen, checked or striped linen
or flannel, as well as plain flannel.

Blankets:
Best:
Wool Blanket. Plain white, Dutch, 2 or 3 point, or civilian.
Knapsacks:
Best:
Warner Knapsack. Either painted or left unpainted.
Acceptable:
Blanket roll.

Accoutrements:
Best:
Soft pouch of company pattern, with a leather shoulder strap. Corresponding
shoulder belt, frog, and scabbard for bayonet, only if you have one.
Acceptable:
Soft pouch not of company pattern. If sufficiently similar will be allowed.
Tin cartridge canister.
Unacceptable:
Belly boxes, Any British Pouches, New Construction pouches, powder horns.

Muskets:
Best:
French 1763/66 musket. With or without sling, or bayonet
Acceptable:
Other earlier pattern French muskets. i.e. 1717, 1728, 1742, etc. up to the model
of 1763/66. With or without bayonet or sling.
Brass mounted musket roughly conforming to Council of Safety specifications.
This would include short and long land pattern muskets.
Unacceptable:
1777 or later French muskets, Fowling pieces, rifles, etc.
Canteens:
Best:
Wooden cheesebox or staved canteen
Acceptable:
Tin Canteen of half moon or kidney style
Unacceptable:
Rumlets, jacked leather water bottle, glass bottles covered in leather or wicker.
