Three Important Things

You Should Know About

God
1)There is one God who created the earth and all things in it, including people.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being" (Genesis 2:7)

"For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens, who is God, who
formed the earth and made it, who has established it, who did not create it in
vain, who formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD , and there is no other"
(Isaiah 45:18).

"You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You
created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created" (Revelation
4:11).

2) This God revealed Himself in flesh through Jesus Christ in order to save people
from their sins.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God" (John 1:1).

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His
glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and
truth" (John 1:14).

"For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good
man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love
toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans
5:6-8).

"And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him
there is no sin" (I John 3:5)
3)You can receive forgiveness and a new relationship with God by applying the
gospel to your life.

The gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
"Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you,
which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if
you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for
our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that he rose
again the third day according to the Scriptures" (I Corinthians 15:1-4).

The gospel is applied by obeying the plan of salvation as given by the

apostle Peter.

"Then Peter said to them, `Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift
of the Holy Spirit'" (Acts 2:38).

Compare the gospel and its application.

The Gospel = death, burial, and resurrection

The Application = repentance, baptism in Jesus’ name, and receiving the Holy
Spirit
