WHEN THE HOPE

DIES...
I am tired papi".A little boy said to his father walking behind, in his
father's shadow tired and sick. "A few steps more my son just a few
steps...",said the father , a man probably in his mid 30's but looked
way older than he actually was. "'Papi why isn't Ma with us why did we
left her there ,where she went? You said that she has gone to a better
place why can't we go there?",the boy said with a tired trembling
voice. Due to no food for a whole week the boy was weak to his
bones ,his father's gait was of a defeated man. Ronald Edger was a
man of iron wits but in this denied world his strong will was shattered .
He was destroyed, all things from him were taken in the name of the
LORD. All was gone what remained were three mouths to feed. His wife
Victoria and his two sons Adam and Erik. He was crashed with the
burden of those he loved with all his heart and soul. They say that
every man got a breaking point and this was Ronald's. Everything
seemed meaningless. Suddenly Ronald heard a thud and he knew it
that Erik can't take it anymore but what he could do.What did he do
when Victoria fell and never woke up."Nothing" .This word was like a
bullet, a hardpill that he had to take every single time.Fate defeated
him every single time his and all knowledge was powerless. He turned
back to face another the reality but was scared .He felt himself
punished by the Nature. The very nature of the world.
As Erik fell to the ground, the tremors shook Ronald apart. He
was stuck like before. First his wife and now his little boy being taken
away by the world in the same way. Starvation was not the only
monster he had to face. People had burned his last hope. A cottage on
the bank of Larkin Lake. This cottage was handed down to him by his
father as a gift for his birthday. Yes, Ronald Edger, son of Edward
Edger, belonged to one of the richest family in Clanton City. But now he
was a mere beggar who was denied everywhere. Once in a while he
did think that he really was guilty and for his sins he needed to suffer.
But why these poor creatures that were stuck with him to the very
end? This isn't the doing of God, this is the doing of man. The ugliest
and the hungriest of all the creatures. He heard the sound of Erick's fall

and then there was silent. A sound of silence. Edgar's heart swelled
with a soar emotion. He didn't know how to let out that miserable burst
of emotion which was being welled up like a volcano. His last hope, his
beloved son was lying on his back, lips parched n eyes stonned. The
image of his son started melting down in his eyes, he was crying.
He parted the lips to struggle for some air. Tears were running
down his cheeks and salted his throat. Was it all the world was capable
of doing to him? His life ended with his sons last breath, world seemed
to freez and he couldn't listen to his own heart beat. He knew that the
soft lump has turned to stone at last. He bent down and reached to
hold Erik in his arms. His mind and heart seemed blank, only his
sockets could move. His pain reached to such a hight that it became
painless. In the evening when the shadows start to follow around, one
could see a man walking with broken steps, holding a baby in his
arms.Head bent , shoulders down a man walking, holding his baby.. it
was touching if seen from a distance. One could tell that the father is
really tired of long walk and his small boy is asleep in his arms. The
way man held his baby , was possessive and cautious. A really loving
father of a lucky baby. No one could see the tears falling. No one
wanted to. For people only see what gives them an excuse of being
happy. No one would want to know that the man is holding his dead
child who has died out of hunger. No one knew the agony of the heart
of father for him each step seemed like ages. While passing by a park
Edgar saw another father crsddlibg his son. Their appearance was
giving way to their wealth. Edgar saw them with cold eyes. Only one
question was echoing in his mind..*who is going to pay for my loss ? ''
