2014
This is the 3rd Anniversary of the FMA Informative. The staff would like to thank all the writers, practitioners
etc., for their support, and of course the FMA Informative wants to thank the subscribers which is just a little
over 6,000 at the time of this issue and the Face Book crowd which is moving towards 3,000 members for all
their support.
The FMA Informative is constantly working to support the Filipino martial arts and the Philippine culture in any way that it can.
Have you seen all the issues of the FMA Informative? If not in this issue it will tell you what is in each
issue all 151 of them. So visit the FMA Informative website and download them. (www.fmainformative.info)
The FMA Informative reaches out to all writers and practitioners and historical avenues available to
bring information on organizations, styles, groups, practitioners, events, etc., also every aspect of the Filipino
martial arts and culture that it can think of.
The FMA Informative has communicated with either in person or through phone calls or emails some
of the best in the Filipino martial arts (also some outside of the Filipino martial arts that have much to offer)
people and is honored to promote and propagate them and their art and their activities.
Of course there are those that are lazy, unprofessional, their word is worth nothing, and some that just
talk crap and are assholes that no matter what one tries to do in bringing forth and promoting them it just is not
going to happen - to those the FMA Informative has found it is better just to let them alone and to not bother
publishing anything on them, for it is found they are happy in their own little world.
The FMA Informative would like to especially thank Roy Magdaraog of Zenway Digital Concepts & Design
Center who provided the cover logo for this issue.

Each issue features practitioners of martial arts and other internal arts, other features include historical, theoretical and technical articles; reflections, Filipino martial arts, healing arts, the culture of the Philippines and other

The continued success of
the FMA Informative is people
that submit or lets the FMA Informative use their articles and
writings. And of course the reader
that hopefully looks forward to
reading what the FMA Informative
puts together.
With this being said the
FMA Informative has been around
for three years now, being established with its first issue on December 1, 2011 and its first newspaper on January 1, 2012 with
three years of monthly newspapers
Recognition
you might say or think that the
FMA Informative is well established. However that is only true as
long as there is news, and articles
submitted.
A staff member that the
FMA Informative was fortunate to
have is Steven Dowd who owned
and was the publisher of the FMAdigest. The FMA Informative
when first starting asked Steven to
reach out to some of his contacts to
get material for FMA Informative
issues.
The FMA Informative would like to thank the following for helping the FMA Informative gets it start with FMA
Informative issues:
Zena Sultana Babao - Villabrille-Largusa Kali System - Issue
Sam Buot - Balintawak Basics (abecedario) - Issue
Steven Dowd - FMA Unity and Legends, Kuntaw Basics, and TRACMA Basics - Issues
Jeff Finder - Historical Overview of the FMA - Issue
Leo Fong - Boxings Knockout Punch - Issue
Bran Frank - Learn in 6 Teach in 12 - Issue
Khalid Khan - Serrada Eskrima - Issue
The FMA Informative
really has to thank a few people
that have made publishing a joy
with sending material for FMA
Informative issues on their own or
having the FMA Informative just
mention how it would be great to
have something on this or that etc.,
and they with no hesitation send
something in. Not just once but
continuously throughout the three
years the FMA Informative has
been in operation.
Now there are others that
have contributed with little to no
prodding and the FMA Informative
Those individuals the FMA Informative would like to especially thank and recognize for constantly submitting
material for issues etc:

Dean Carter
Steven Dowd

Events
Now to touch a bit on the events that happen throughout the world concerning the Filipino martial arts. There
are those that ask the FMA Informative to advertise their event or place it on the FMA Informative group page
in FaceBook.
The FMA Informative contacts the organizers of the event before the event happens and asks for a group
picture or other picture and a sentence or two about what went on at the event and even suggests ways (to some)
for an issue to be published on the event.
The FMA Informative knows that sometimes the event is exhausting or the excitement has pumped that
adrenaline so the FMA Informative sends a reminder after the event. Why does the FMA Informative do this,
cause we at the FMA Informative think that it is good news that practitioners are sharing their art and would like
others to know about the practitioner or event, and what they may have missed, and by chance that practitioner
is doing an event in their area they can be sure to attend if at all possible.
Some organizers are great and even some practitioners ensure that something gets sent to the FMA
Informative for publication, however others just give Lip Service or they just ignore the FMA Informative
request, they figure as long as they get to advertise the event screw the FMA Informative. They got what they
needed advertisement for their event so screw the thought of sending something to show and tell what others
have missed.
There are a few events that happen annually and a couple bi-annually. These events have multiple
practitioners teaching. These events are held throughout the world that are really a great representation of the
Filipino martial arts and the Philippines culture in the practitioners that teach and share their art. And the FMA
Informative strives to get information on these events for its readers and make an issue that will be remembered.
Understand there are a few events that would have been great to have an issue on, however the people
in charge of those events just give lip service and the FMA Informative is just lucky to get a group picture and a
sentences or two. These events were held in the United States and throughout Europe.
Some that have shared their event for an issue regularly and the FMA Informative truly appreciates their
efforts and would like to mention them.
