This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates for most
technologies that Actix supports, with changes falling under the following categories:

New collection device support:

Added support for Ascom TEMS Symphony version 6.1.3.

Added support for JDSU version 17.0.

Added support for Rohde and Schwarz ROMES version 4.70.

Application layer improvements:

Added a new LTE Inter-frequency handover failure rate KPI in

Spotlight.

Improved the diagnostic of LTE KPIs RRC dropped

connections and LTE failed handovers.

Platform improvements:

Actix Analyzer Update

Support has been added for UTF-8 cellrefs files (as exported
from ActixOne).

A memory issue has been resolved that was caused by the

usage of GetFormatted function in queries.

A problem with the TAB export feature in the map has been
corrected that affected enumerated attributes.

A problem affecting crosstab queries have been resolved that

could cause them to produce incorrect results after they were
edited.

2 New collection device or technology support

2.1 Ascom TEMS Investigation support

[Case 69662] In LTE, a problem that could cause Analyzer to crash has
been resolved with the decoding of the scanner message Enhanced Top
N Pilot Scan Response.
In LTE, the special encoding of Qualcomm message 0xB126 used by
TEMS is now supported.
[Case 64237] In GSM, when an Ericsson handset is used as a scanner,
the messages that report measurements for a subpart of the GSM
frequency band are now aggregated so that the GSM scanner attributes
set by Analyzer (such as ScanSortSigLevel_by_SigLevel) are set for
the whole GSM frequency band at once.

2.2 Ascom TEMS Symphony (QVoice) support

[Case 49792, 80200] Added support for Ascom TEMS Symphony version
6.1.3.

2.3 Invex3G support

[Case 69278] In UMTS, a problem has been resolved that could make
Analyzer crash when the message HSDPA HS DPCCH reported no subframe.
[Case 66850] Added support for RSSI Scan message type.

2.4 JDSU support

Added support for JDSU version 17.0.

[Case 68938] A problem has been resolved that prevented attributes
from being set at LTE TopN Channels messages if some of the
measured frequencies did not correspond to any of the LTE bands
defined by 3GPP.
[Case 80030] The LTE event detection threshold
LTE_CSFB_OnlyUseProtocolMsgs can now be used with JDSU.
[Case 80113] A problem has been resolved that could prevent log files
containing a W1314A scanner from loading in Analyzer.

December 2012

2.5 Meritech Sigma-LA support

[Case 1464] A problem has been resolved in decoding the log files
header that could prevent some log files from loading in Analyzer.

2.6 Nemo support

[Case 14506] A problem has been resolved with Nemo Indoor marker
file support, which could cause Analyzer to only use one set of GPS
coordinates instead of all the markers.
[Case 68767] A problem has been resolved with superstreaming that
affected Nemo files loaded with preference General Settings > Nemo >
Auto-load device files enabled.
[Case 49947] The GSM Hopping stateform now also displays GSM C/I
for Nemo files.

2.7 PCTEL support

[Case 71227] Added support for PCTEL SeeHawk version 2.2.0.4.

2.8 Qualcomm support

[Case 68765] In LTE, a new attribute LTE_UE_OutOfService is now

set from the Qualcomm debug message 0x1FFB.
[Case 70791] Added support for GPS log packet 0x1482.

2.9 Rohde & Schwarz support

Added support for ROMES version 4.70.

[Case 1213] In GSM, the decoding of scanner message GS3 Result
has been improved, so that more attributes are set for MNC, MCC, LAC

2.10 Swissqual support

[Case 69189] In LTE, a problem has been resolved that could prevent
LTE RRC attributes from being set for CDMA/EVDO capable devices.

2.11 Generic

In LTE, the ASN.1 containers (such as Source-ToTargetTransparentContainer in S1AP protocol) are now decoded.

Actix Analyzer Update

December 2012

[Case 80016] In LTE, a problem has been resolved whereby LTE NAS
ciphered messages could cause Analyzer to crash.
[Case 65987] In LTE, the event detection now uses the T300 values
indicated in the RRC messages to detect RRC Connection Setup failure
events.
[Case 70722] In UMTS, a problem has been resolved that could prevent
the attribute Uu_HSPACallDropped from being set.
[Case 31655] In UMTS, a problem has been resolved that could cause
more cell reselection events to be detected by Analyzer when Load All
preference was selected instead of Load Time Message Filtering.
[Case 80042] In UMTS, a problem as been resolved that could prevent
the RRC attributes set at Measurement Control messages for event 2d
and event 2f from being set (such as Uu_RRC_Event2d_hysteresis).
In addition new attributes are set for inter-frequency measurement
parameters:

[Case 63632, 65914] A problem has been resolved that caused the
preference General Settings > Disable Scanner Load Time Message
Filtering to be ignored if the preference General Settings > Merge
Scanner and Handset Data was enabled.

3 Application layer improvements

3.1 Spotlight

In LTE, a new KPI was added for inter-frequency handover failure rate.
[Case 67555] In LTE, the diagnostic for RRC dropped connections and
for failed handovers has been improved.

Actix Analyzer Update

Automatic Neighbor Relation: RRC drops occurring in handover

situations when the eNodeB requested the UE to measure the
Cell Global Identity of the best cell reported in the RRC
Measurement Report.

Limited UL coverage: RRC drops occurring when PUCCH

transmit power is higher than a threshold.

December 2012

Reconfiguration failure: RRC drops occurring during an RRC

connection reconfiguration procedure (but not a handover
procedure).

Security failure: RRC drops occurring during a RRC security

mode control procedure.

[Case 61409] In GSM, RxQual is now displayed on the map when the
RxQual KPI is selected in Radio Network Explorer.

December 2012

4 Platform improvements
4.1 General

[Case 69292] Support has been added for UTF-8 cellrefs files (as
exported from ActixOne).
[Case 5723] A problem has been resolved that could cause Analyzer to
crash because of a lack of memory when the GetFormatted function
was used in queries.
[Case 66840] A problem has been resolved whereby Network Explorer
did not display correctly when a Site Id was 0.
[Case 58155] A problem has been resolved that could cause queries to
produce incorrect results when a query was edited and re-run in the
same Analyzer session.
[Case 6900] A problem has been resolved that caused TAB exports of
enumerated attributes to contain only 0 values instead of the expected
text values.
