REFLECTION
During the course work assignment of English Language Profiencency II,I have
received many useful and good benefits for me as s prospective teacher. After making many
refrences and discussions with friends,I began to know and understand about types of formal
letters.
I began to realize that writing a formal letter can be difficult for some students but with
the right guidance and some practice it can be made easy.Myself also face some troubles
while complete my individual task because confuse with the format. But after discuss with my
friends and refer some books atlast I complete my task.
In formal letters we have to be brief, clear and precise. We also have to follow certain
formalities and the costomary layout. We also have to use appropriate expressions for greeting
and closing. We also must convey the essential message accurately and concisely.
In formal letters or official letters, we must start with our name and address. Next
comes the name and address of the person that we address to. It is followed by a salutation Dear Sir/Madam. Then comes the subject, which must contain the key points and not irrelevant
details.
In the first paragraph itself, the subject must be discussed. The next two paragraphs
can contain analysis of the problem followed by suggestions to overcome the problem. We
have to complete the letter with a Thanking you and Yours faithfully.
The whole format of the letter should be in the left side of the page. No commas in the
From, To, salutation or signing off. Punctuation marks to be observed in the content of the
letter. No need to leave space to indicate the beginning of a Para. A little space between
paragraphs is to be maintained.
In English there are a number of conventions that should be used when writing a formal
or business letter. Furthermore, try to write as simply and as clearly as possible, and not to
make the letter longer than necessary. We should not to use informal language like
contractions.
Through the process of completing this assignment that I run with friend has
made relations between us became very close.Furthermore, interact with lecturers and friends
for this task allows me to improve and inhance the way I communicate. It is thus able to train
me to communicate well and become a quality teacher.
Overall, this assignment has provided many benefits.
