NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL KABADDI LEAGUE


RULES & REGULATIONS
The aim of the National Professional Kabaddi League [NPKL] is to involve
the participation of each and every Government Department, Govt. of India
undertaking, Productive and Non-Productive institutions, Industry, Company,
Corporate Body, Bank and Airline in the National Professional Kabaddi League
and to give equal opportunity to the players working in the said organizations for
selection and participation in the International Kabaddi Competitions. Further, the
participating team/organization will get more mileage through publicity on Media
& TV coverage.
The National Professional League also envisages the following

Bringing Kabaddi up to the levels of other popular sports through vide


spread advertisement and electronic media coverage.
This will attract the attention of big business houses and the
corporate sector to advertise their product through Kabaddi
This will also serve the purpose of employment generation to young
and talented Kabaddi players, who will take up Kabaddi as a
professional sport.
To make Kabaddi a joint venture between the A K F I and the
corporate sector
To generate funds for the development of Kabaddi which will help
attract vast number of talented players
To promote Kabaddi and bring it to the limelight, especially to the
urban population as a modern & popular sporting event.
To increase the number of competitions and infrastructure

Eligibility
Kabaddi teams of the following organizations
1. Govt. Departments
2. Govt. of India undertakings
3. Corporations
4. Oil & Petroleum Companies
5. Nationalized and Private Banks
6. Major Port Trust
7. All India Police
8. All India Road Transport
9. All India Central Enterprises
10. All India Electricity Boards
11. Major Industries
12. Insurance Companies
13. Sports Authority of India
14. All India Postal
15. BSNL
16. Air India

17. FCI
Note:
AII those who are not covered in the above sectors but belong to
organizations which have nation wide network are also eligible to be affiliated as
members of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India and are eligible to
participate in the National Professional Kabaddi League. The AKFI will be the
sole authority to recognize or de-recognize such organizations.
Terms and conditions

The National Professional Kabaddi League will be named as (Sponsor's


Name) National Professional Kabaddi League.
The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India will constitute a sub-committee
called the National Professional Kabaddi League Sub-Committee to
look after the affairs & organization of National Professional Kabaddi
League.
Apart from the sub-committee, a local organizing committee will also be
constituted by the organizing unit for the conduct of the
Championship.
The Competition Director, Jury of appeal and Technical Officials will be
nominated by A.K.F.I. for the National Professional Kabaddi League.
The Competition is exclusive to the teams that are affiliated to the Amateur
Kabaddi Federation of India.
The National Professional Kabaddi League Championship will be played
as per the Rules and Regulations prescribed by the Amateur Kabaddi
Federation of India.
The National Professional Kabaddi League will be organized once in a
year.
The Participating teams should bear their boarding, lodging and traveling
expenses. The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India will provide
Railway Travel Concession Certificate only.

Responsibilities of the organizing unit

The organizing unit will obtain prior approval of the AKFI to organize the
Championship and fulfill the required formalities.
Arrange required Venue and infrastructure including Playfields, Spectators
seating, Press & Media coverage, Technical support, Medical support
and Ceremonial support in consultation with the AKFI.
Arrange local transportation for the teams and Technical officials
Remuneration to the Technical officials including TA, DA and officiating
allowances as per the AKFI norms.
TA/DA to the Federation Officials and Competition Director
Arrangement for the stay & boarding of the Federation Officials,
Competition Director and Technical Officials
Arrange for Merit & Participation Certificates, Prize Money, Medals and
Trophies.

Trophies & Prizes

The Winners of the National Professional Kabaddi League will be awarded


Cash Prizes & Trophies.
a) Winners:
Gold Medal, Cash Prize & Trophy
b) Runners:
Silver Medal, Cash Prize & Trophy
c) Loosing
Semi Finalists:
Bronze Medals, Cash Prize & Trophy
d) Best Raider of the Championship
e) Best Catcher of the Championship
f) Best Player of the Championship

The Trophy of the Winner will be in the name of the Sponsor of the
Championship.

Eligibility & Registration of Players

A Player will register to the Department / Institution where he is working


permanently or on contract basis
Incase of contract employees minimum six months service is required for
eligibility to register with the concerned Department / Institution
The applications for Registration of players Fresh/ Renewal/Change will
be entertained from 1st April to 30th June of every year. The new
Registration will come into effect from 1st July. Once a player is
registered with a department/institution
The period of Registration will be from 1st July to 30th June of the
succeeding year
Change in Registration on change of Department will be entertained on
production of a No-objection certificate from the previous Department
requisition letter for Registration from the new Department with a
copy of the photo ID card and a fee of Rs. 200/- for change of
Registration
The participating team must submit their Final 12 Member Team before
the commencement of the championship. The Final 12 once
registered cannot be changed
Players will be issued an Identity Card with latest photographs.
Players without I.D. Card will not be allowed to participate in the National
League.

Dress Code - Colours & Numbers

The players will wear the uniform as prescribed by the Amateur Kabaddi
Federation of India

The out fits i.e. the Uniform should display the number of the player
prominently [4" in dimension] in the Front and [6" in dimension] on
the Back.
Colours of the numbers should be in contrast with the Colours of the
players outfit and should be clearly legible to the spectators in the
stadium as well as to the television viewers.
It is compulsory for the numbers on the attire to range 1 to 12 and the
players will wear the same numbered outfit declared in the official list
through out the competition.
Any team or player found violating the Dress Code will be subject to
Disciplinary Action.
