ChE (462/401) - Chemical Process Dynamics and Control (Total Credits: 3)


(EECE Department, Washington University)
Topics: steady and unsteady-state behavior of chemical processes; fundamental feedback and
feedfoward control strategies; modern control theory and applications; process modeling and
problem solving with Excel, MATLAB and Simulink.
Objectives: after taking this course, students should be able to: 1) understand and apply process
control theory; 2) develop and resolve models for chemical processes; 3) analyze and regulate the
process dynamics; 4) learn MATLAB programming skills.

Projects

You will have one computer project on process dynamics, optimization and
Simulink. You may receive up to 5% bonus points for your outstanding
project answers.
