Torre Eiffel
The Eiffel Tower, initially named tower of 300 meters, is a structure of iron alumina
designed by Maurice Koechlin and Emile Nouguier and built by the French engineer
Gustave Eiffel and its partners for the universal exhibition of 1889 in Paris. Located at the
end of the Field of Mars by the Seine river, this monument parisian, a symbol of France
and its capital, is the highest structure in the city and the monument that entry fee the
world's most visited, with 7.1 million tourists each year.
It is one of the most famous monuments of the French capital and probably the arc de
triomphe most famous in the world. Built between 1806 and 1836 by order of Napoleon
Bonaparte to commemorate the victory at the battle of Austerlitz, is located in the eighth
district of Paris, on the place Charles de Gaulle. On the outer sides of the arch are
engraved the names of major revolutionary and military victories of Napoleon I. On the
interior walls of the monument are inscribed the names of the 558 General of the French
Empire. The names of those who died in battle are underlined.
