II- DATA FLOW DIAGRAM OF PHARMACY SYSTEM

This diagram shows the flow in the pharmacy inventory

system that helps to determine the outcome of the study which is
used to achieve the needs of the respondent.

III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

A manual inventory system relies heavily on the actions of
people, which increases the possibility of human error. People
might forget to record a transaction or simply miscount the
number of goods. This results in needless additional orders that
increase the company's inventory carrying costs and use up
precious storage space. Inaccurate physical counts could also
result in not ordering enough of a product, meaning the business
could run out of a crucial item at the wrong time.

IV. STATEMENT OF HYPOTHESIS

THE RESEARCHER WOULD LIKE TO CONDUCT A RESEARCH IF
THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MANUAL
INVENTORY SYSTEM AND COMPUTERIZE INVENTORY SYSTEM.

V. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

Efficient and Quick information processing: The Automated

Inventory management system will provide the information processing
for the inventory in a quick and an efficient manner. Main workflow of
the product cycle involves

1 Official document: This is the first steps of the product

cycle in a pharmaceutical company. In this step, the
warehouse received official document of the product from
the production department of the company. And stores
the product at the warehouse to be sold.

2 Invoice against order: This is the second steps of the

product cycle in a pharmaceutical company. In this step,
the warehouse received order from the customers. Then
prepare an invoice against the order and after that the
product is supply to the customers.

3 Return of goods: This step of the product cycle take

place, when the customer willing to return the goods that
has been delivered to them. In this step, the warehouse
receives the returned product from the customer and
updates the customer balance and the inventory record.

Calculation of Stock position: The Automated Inventory

management system will provide quick and correct calculation of the
current stock position such as- number of specific products in the
stock, number selling product from the stock, number of required
product to the stock.

Calculation of Customer bills: The Automated Inventory

management system will provide quick and correct calculation of the
customer bills that required to collects money from customer. This
system also update customer bills when they order new products or
return existing ones.

VI. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The findings of this study will redound to the benefits of the
Pharmacists that are already using IT systems to support their
daily work and, when considering the IT requirements for
emerging working practices, pharmacists should consider what
functions could be provided by systems that they already use.
For example, all pharmacies use pharmacy management systems
for medication records, dispensing, labelling, ordering and stock
control. However, many pharmacies do not use all of the available
functionality of their system, for example, modules to handle
patient-centred services, such as medicines use reviews or
prescription interventions.

VII.SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The scope of this project is limited to the activities of a
pharmaceutical store which includes will improving health
outcomes, reduce hospital and long term care admissions,
enhance access and care in the Estate and surrounding
communities and ensuring best use of resources, the use
of a computer based management system for improving
the efficiency of a pharmacy is needed and it is an
essential part of any modern continuously evolving society
.The system will not be able to handle drug prescription,
drug to drug interaction. The system will not be able to
handle contraindication and poly pharmacy in a
prescription; this implies that these services will be
manually completed by the pharmacist.

VII.DEFINATION OF TEMS
System
: Is the complex purposeful collection of interrelated
components that work together to take some objectives.
Drug interaction
: is a situation in which a substance (usually another drug)
affects the activity of a drug when both are administered
together.
Poly pharmacy
: is the use of multiple medications by a patient,
especially when too many forms of medication are used by
a patient, i.e. when more drugs are prescribed than is
clinically warranted.
Contraindication
: is the condition or factor that serves as a reason to
withhold a certain medical treatment.
