Rony Gonzales

Simultaneous Interpreter (EN/ES)

I am a native speaker of English and Spanish, also fluent in Portuguese and French. I have a genuine passion
for language, both as a combinatorial system and as a tool to break down barriers between people. I currently
specialize in on-site Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish interpretation, although I still occasionally
participate in translation and localization projects due to the high demand for these services. My interpretation
background includes on-air simultaneous interpretation for a Peruvian television network, booth and
conference interpretation for Lima-based language service providers, as well as conference and in-the-field
interpretation for global NGOs, international mining operations, and the Peruvian offices of foreign-based
multinational corporations. Translation and localization work includes assignments for the above, writing for
the Peruvian tourism office, and copy editing work for a New Yorkbased place marketing firm representing
Colombia and Peru. With regard to my training and QM/QA experience: From Nov. 2005 until Nov. 2008, I
worked in the Quality Assurance department of California-based NetworkOmni Multilingual Communications,
Inc., where my duties as Overseas Interpreter Trainer were to train and monitor the progress of customer
servicelevel and trade-specialized over-the-phone interpreters. Prior to that, I had worked for nine months as
an in-house, over-the-phone interpreter at their Lima office. I currently work as a freelance interpreter in Lima.

Simultaneous Interpreter (EN/ES)

"I am a columnist and writer on The Daily Telegraph in London and have just returned from an assignment
in the Northern Desert of Peru, where I worked closely with Rony who is, without doubt, the best multiligual
interpreter I have ever come across. More than this, he is erudite, perceptive and has bagfuls of emotional
intelligence; all attributes crucial when working in the field and dealing with diverse people from all strata
of society. Rony's ingenuity, helpfulness and professionalism also went far beyond the call of duty...I almost
wept when our paths diverged in Lima airport at the end of my trip and I had to cope without him for a whole
two hours... a veritable Renaissance Man!"
Judith Woods, was Rony's client
"Working on documenting and translating a technical software user manual, Rony surpassed expectations by
delivering results on time and with highest quality. His friendly and warm personality combined with high
professional rigor make him an outstanding asset to any project."
Vincent Matossian, was Rony's client
"If it is possible to be a native speaker of multiple languages, Rony is. His extensive educational experience
in the English language combined with many years living in an English-speaking country and a love for
language study have enabled Rony to excel not only in the speed at which he translates, but also in the
accuracy and fluency of his manoeuvers between (and among) multiple languages. A true polyglot, Rony
demonstrates an almost puritanical work ethic that makes him the ideal business colleague. His skill and
professionalism are further supported by a natural inteligence and curiosity that knows no bounds."
Hilary Vellenga, teacher, the Bullis School, was with another company when working with Rony at

"I have known Rony for many years now and one thing that strikes me is that he is very sincere and dedicated
individual to everyone around him. One major trait that many of us overlook when looking to see if a
individual is right for a job is character. Rony character shows that he will be a asset to any company he
works for. If you require any additional information, please feel free to contact me, as I will make time if its
for Rony."
